Teacamp: Bunnyfoot's discovery phase for the legislation.gov.uk project Bunnyfoot
This document summarizes the discovery phase of the Legislation.gov.uk project, which aimed to create a single website for UK legislation by merging two existing sites. It describes initial stakeholder workshops that helped align the team, research conducted including surveys and user testing, and developing personas based on insights. It emphasizes the importance of qualitative research to understand user needs beyond surveys. The discovery phase took place in 2008 and helped shape the project approach through engaging stakeholders and gaining an understanding of users.
This document contains summaries from several employees at Infrastructure Canada (INFC) about what they enjoy about their roles. Some key points:
- Many employees appreciate the opportunities to take on responsibilities beyond their roles and work directly with senior management, which would not be possible in a larger department.
- The small size allows for close relationships with colleagues and a sense of community.
- Roles provide chances to directly help Canadians and work on important projects that will benefit communities across the country.
- Employees find the work personally rewarding and feel they are making a positive impact and difference.
This document discusses the importance of policies for organizations. It defines a policy as a predetermined course of action to guide decisions and achieve objectives. Policies are important for organizations in three key ways:
1) Policies serve as important forms of internal control and limit certain employee behaviors to reduce risks and financial losses.
2) They help organizations maintain compliance and accountability to internal and external stakeholders by requiring employees to follow established procedures.
3) Having clear policies can help create a learning culture where employees continuously build their job knowledge by reading and understanding the policies.
This document discusses the need for leadership development programs designed specifically for women in higher education. It summarizes that while women now earn over half of college degrees, they hold significantly fewer top administrative positions than men. Gender-specific leadership programs can help advance more women by addressing barriers like unconscious biases, lack of mentors and networks, and challenges balancing career and family responsibilities. The document examines differences in typical leadership styles between men and women, and argues leadership training should consider reinforcing women's tendency toward transformational leadership styles.

This document describes methods used to estimate groundwater recharge in Neishaboor Plain, Iran. Three methods were used: the Water Table Fluctuation (WTF) method, the Distributed Hydrological Budget (DHB) method, and the Hydrological Budget (HB) method. The WTF and DHB methods estimated monthly recharge rates for individual areas defined by observation wells, while the HB method estimated annual recharge for the entire study area. The results found average annual recharge rates of 228, 269, and 354 million cubic meters using the WTF, DHB, and HB methods respectively. The WTF and DHB methods were considered to provide more reliable estimates of groundwater recharge.

The future of customer support is AI-driven automation. Soon, we’ll interact conversationally with bots that know who we are and how to fix our problem right the first time. Soon, the capabilities of virtual agents will far exceed those of today’s best humans. We’ll receive support that is more reliable than friends, more accurate than social media, and less frustrating than waiting on hold.
In this session, we’ll discuss how artificial intelligence is impacting IT. We’ll cover research trends, technical challenges, and the cultural implications of AI-driven automation. We’ll also discuss how AI and natural language processing (NLP) can be used to improve KPIs like MTTR, FCR, cost per ticket, and customer satisfaction.
You'll leave better informed, less frightened, and armed with actionable advice to help you spearhead your team's vision for the future of IT.
Anatomy of a Large Website Project - With Presenter NotesJazkarta, Inc.
The Mountaineers is the premier outdoor education nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest, with over 10,000 members and over 2,000 volunteer-led courses and activities every year. Their website, mountaineers.org, is the critical link between their members and volunteers and the outdoor learning that the organization offers. When they embarked on a major upgrade project, they took a holistic view of how they had used technology in the past and how they wanted to use it in the future. They had a clear vision to guide them: the website had to be deeply engaging for their target audiences, and easy for volunteers and members to use; and it had to simplify and improve as many of their processes as possible.
In this session from the 2016 Nonprofit Technology Conference, we’ll describe the life cycle of this major website redesign project:
- Defining the strategy driving The Mountaineers mission and website
- The requirements discovery process, including a huge community engagement effort
- The technology choices we made and why
- The importance of user experience (UX) design
- The agile process used to manage development
- Managing data and content migration, testing, and site launch
- Website support and ongoing evolution
Along the way, we’ll highlight the practices that made this project so successful.

It was amazing to see how all the planning and collaboration done by the All-Hands Plan-
ning Committee and Speakers brought forth an amazing All Hands IS Meeting this
year. We had envisioned a meeting in which topics such as Enterprise Interoperability
and Supporting Partnerships, IT Human Resources and Epic Optimization, could be pre-
sented in a fun and engaging manner. The All-Hands meeting is an opportunity in which
we can all come together to share ideas, voice concerns and provide feedback on both
day-to-day operations, as well as strategic future initiatives. The Town Hall and Q&A
Session was a great example of this, and topics that were brought forward are being
looked at further by Leadership (more news to come!)
For me, it was a great experience and I am grateful in having the opportunity to connect
with so many IS members. With so many competing projects and priorities day in and
day out, it can be difficult to take a step back and talk with other IS team members that
we do not normally interact with. Being able to MC the All-Hands meeting has allowed
me to meet many new faces, connecting with many IS team members on a personal lev-
el. Feedback is still coming in and I enjoy hearing the teams’ positive experiences from
it. Cheers to a great 2015 All-Hands meeting!

I enjoy watching and playing several types of sports (football, basketball, baseball, hockey, tennis and golf). Since I am orig-
inally from Chicago, I cheer for all the Chicago Sports Teams. Reading Comic Books, watching movies and attending San
Diego Comic Con every summer.
5. What does a typical work day look like?
A typical work day for me is participating in several conference calls, resolve any new or open issues for the departments
that I support. Also, that I am up to date with all my At Task Projects or At Task projects that I am assisting other project
managers with .
6. What do you find rewarding about your job/position?
There are two things that I find rewarding about my job. The first thing is the people we support (customers) are satisfied
with the work I do and the issues are resolved. The second is completing the projects that I work on and that everything is
working
ZOLL RescueNet Code Review Application allows the
BIOMED Techs and other medical staff to review the
codes that are transmitted from the defibrillators once
the device is used. Wireless cards are placed in each
defibrillator. The data codes are sent to a network
shared drive (LBZOLL01) through the wireless net-
work. To the left is a screenshot of where the file is
stored.
The file is read by the ZOLL Res-
cueNet Code Review application
that is installed on each users
workstation:

1. What is your position?
Technical Specialist
2. What team do you work under?
I report to Chris Ayster the Director of Technical Services
for MHS. I primarily work with the Telecom, desktop, and
Network Services teams.
3. What’s your background?
I completed my bachelor’s degree back in 2013 with a
degree in Business and emphasis in Management. During
that time I was an intern for Chris Ayster at Long Beach
Memorial working on the BCMA (BarCode Med Admin-
istration) project and the early stages of the Synergy Pro-
ject which we just completed. After that Rick Nafis the
Executive Director of IS at Saddleback Memorial hired me on as an analyst for the application database. I have since
helped transition the application database into ServiceNow as I was on the project team implementing it around the Enter-
prise that replaced TrackIt. Before joining MemorialCare I was a Youth Sports Director in Orange, CA for three years teach-
ing youth to high school based boys and girls to learn and compete in water polo and swimming.
4. Tell us something about you outside of I.T. (hobbies, interests, etc.).
Outside of the office you can usually find me in the gym right after work and then I’m roaming the pool deck at nights and on
the weekends coaching. I’ve been involved in the sport of water polo and have been playing since I was a youth all the way
to my senior year of college. Now I’ve been head coaching a 12 under youth travel team for the past 6 years in Irvine where
we compete across the state. Other than coaching I love to swim, hike, and hang out with my friends.
5. What does a typical work day look like?
I usually get into the office is around 7:00-
7:30am and from there I try to catch-up on any
emails from the day before and send out up-
dates to team members until about 9:00am. I
am currently involved in a few projects so I
have my weekly and bi-weekly project meetings
to get ready for with building agendas to keep
projects on schedule. At this moment I am
working with Long Beach & Community Hospi-
tal IS telecom team with installing a new NEC
PBX to replace CHLB’s current Nortel phone
system. Most of my day after
that consists of working in
Workfront on organizing
tasks and following up with
the project team on how things are going. Then I usually end my day talking to my boss debriefing on
how both our days went and if we need anything from each other.
6. What do you find rewarding about your
job/position?
I am very fortunate to have a role where I am not designated to just one specific job but am able to help various teams with
improving workflows, processing requests, and resolving break/fix situations. I am currently moving towards the project
management role for the Technical side of IT Operations. This is a great opportunity because I get to work with implement-
ing new applications & equipment while also managing upgrades of current systems here at MemorialCare.
