Hyperloop
1. Hyperloop
INTRODUCTION:
A Hyperloop is a proposed high-speed mass
transportation system for both passenger and freight
transport. The term was invented to describe the
modern open-source project. Hyperloop is described as
a sealed tube or system of tubes with low air pressure
through which a pod may travel substantially free of air
resistance or friction. The Hyperloop could potentially
move people or objects at airline speeds while being
energy efficient compared with existing high-speed rail
systems. This, if implemented, may reduce travel times
compared to train and airplane travel over distances of

CONCEPTS:
The Hyperloop concept has its roots in
a concept invented by George Midhurst in 1799 and
subsequently developed under the names pneumatic
railway, atmospheric railway or vactrain. Elon Musk
mentioned the Hyperloop in 2012, bringing it back to
public attention. The Hyperloop Alpha concept was first
published in August 2013, proposing and examining a
route running from the Los Angeles region to the San
Francisco Bay Area, roughly following the Interstate 5
corridor. The Hyperloop Genesis paper conceived of a
3. hyperloop system that would propel passengers along
the 350-mile (560 km) route at a speed of 760 mph
(1,200 km/h), allowing for a travel time of 35 minutes,
which is considerably faster than current rail or air
travel times.SpaceX built an approximately 1-
kilometre-long (0.62 mi) subscale track for its pod
design competition at its headquarters in Hawthorne,
California. TUM Hyperloop set the world record of
463 km/h (288 mph) in July 2019 during the Hyperloop
pod competition at SpaceX. Virgin Hyperloop
conducted the first human trial in November 2020 at
its test site in Las Vegas.
The companies working on Hyperloop:
The Boring Company is an infrastructure and tunnel
construction company founded by Elon Musk in 2016.
Musk has cited difficulty with Los Angeles traffic and
4. limitations with the current 2-D transportation
network as inspiration for the project.
Headquarters: Hawthorne, California, United States
Founder: Elon Musk
Founded: December 17, 2016, Los Angeles, California,
United States
Hyperloop One is an American company in Los Angeles,
California, that is working to commercialize the
Hyperloop for moving passengers and/or cargo at
airline speeds at a fraction of the cost of air travel.
CEO: Rob Lloyd (2015ā)
Founded: June 2014
Headquarters: Los Angeles, California, United States
Number of employees:280 (Q2 2017)
Founders: Shervin Pishevar, Brogan Bam Brogan
5. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, also known as
HTT, is an American research company formed using a
crowd collaboration approach to develop a
transportation system based on the Hyperloop
concept, which was envisioned by Elon Musk in 2013.
Headquarters Culver City, California, United States
Founded: November 2013
Key person:Bibop Gresta
CONCLUSION:
The proposed design would achieve
cost reduction. Speed is also one of the most important
advantages of the system. It surely fast, safe and cheap
way of transportation. Which this we can surely say
that we are one step closer to the future we all
desired.
