June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

● When people put stuff on social media about
other people do you think they feel good
about it? Or bad about it?
● Can you tell us what to say to a girl or boy
who is asking us about sexting?
● When should you start sexting?
● What do you think would stop cyber
bullying?
● Why do people cyber bully?
● How should I handle peer pressure?
8. What are we doing, how is it working?
What are your thoughts……...

This program is meant to be ran within the
schools, the program focuses on youth,
who have been in trouble consistently.
I.E. In school suspension, Detention, Out
of school suspension even. However
everyone will can benefit from this
program. This program is designed to give
insight into those behaviors, in order to
create improved behaviors based on
knowledge.
14. What makes our programs unique?
● The Process
● The Objective
● The Ripple Effect
*All programs have the approval of a Therapist, Psychologist, High
School Counselors, or a Social worker. All who have proven both
their dedication and desire to improve our communities.
15. A great start…..
These programs are to reach out to our youth
and their families, and is a great START. It’s
just that a starting point!
We have developed other programs to
reach out to at risk members of the
community www.heads.mobi
16. What’s to come…...
“Every successful
individual knows
that his or her
achievement
depends on a
community of
persons working
together”
-Paul Ryan
17. Social services / Community investment
Once individuals experience the benefits of being a part of
the community and feel valued, they will reinvest
themselves and their energies into improving the
community. As they are not only a part of the community
but have experienced the benefits of such a solution.
18. How do we get them invested?
I reflect back to the old age movies where community was
held with high regard, our objective is to get back to that
point using the following means…….
● Community dinners
● Community dances
● Community appreciation days
It’s of great importance that people feel as though we
invest in them WITHOUT a personal agenda.
20. Thank you again!
We appreciate you attending and look
forward to future success for our community!

Editor's Notes
I want you to think about what trauma is, think about what it means, and how much more ‘trauma’ our children experience than children of the 70’s experienced…….
Think about you how has this cycle impacted those you love and those you care about?
It’s clear that our children are being impacted in much more than a “I had a bad day”, type of way.
The only way to make true progress is to be truthful with ourselves, there exist many great programs and services out there, but if we are not talking about the problems how will people realize there is a solution.
I met Neil back in mid March, he asked me how he could go about improving himself. He was curious about how he could start making changes in his life. I walked him through a couple of activities one of which was the circle of courage. I again met with Neil in mid April, he appeared to be more confident both in speech and appearance. At the end of our visit, he said, “You know I keep that circle of courage thing next to my night stand and look at it every morning. It keeps me motivated knowing that I can do more than I ever thought I could…”. Neil was a special guest at our community dinner, his girlfriend contact me the following day asking if there was anything she could do to be a part of helping the community. This is very clearly a victory, people helping people is what is going to strengthen our communities.
Project P.R.E.D.I.C.T. is a process that we as an organization came up with. We have hand selected a group of specially trained individuals to go into a school to make observations of the school staff, students, and the overall culture of the school. All of the staff who work this program have been trained over the course of mulitiple years to work with at risk children and their families. The goal of this program is to get an overview and then build services around the findings to come up with a program suited for the school, students, and community that will promote safety and well being among the students.
In order to create a stronger sense of community we must start somewhere.
We believe that a cookie cutter approach while is easier will not be as nearly effective as working with members of the community to create events that encourage more participation.
In order to achieve something that is greater than has been done, we must first believe it is possible and then act on that belief.
We believe the more partnerships we have the more likely we are to promote lasting change in the community. If these programs seem like something that could benefit your school please contact our Founder and CEO directly at Matthews@HEADS.mobi
