Application
• HumiSeal® 1C48 can be sprayed using conventional
spraying equipment
• Spray pressure will depend on the specific type of
spraying equipment and operator technique
• Spraying should be done in an environment with adequate
ventilation
• At higher application thicknesses care should be taken if cure is
accelerated through heat to avoid wrinkling
• Dip application not recommended with 1C48 due to
moisture cure and solvent-less nature reducing pot life.
However, 1C48 is suitable for use in smaller and fast dip
operations

• 1C48 is a high solids, solvent-less RTV cure silicone conformal coating. The
coating will begin to cure immediately following application as it encounters
ambient moisture
• Recommended RH 30-60% to avoid slow or too fast of a cure
• Depending on thickness and ambient conditions, 1C48 will be tack free within
minutes of application

• 1C48 has a smooth clear finish with a hardness of 25 Shore A
• Adhesion for majority of PCB materials is very good and will develop over
48 hours after application
• Adhesion is also affected by cleanliness of substrate, flux residues and surface type
• Recommend a minimum surface energy of 38 dynes/cm prior to application for
optimum adhesion
• 1C48 conformal coating surpasses all minimum required values per
required ASTM and MIL-I testing

Repair / Rework
• HumiSeal Stripper 1091 is recommended for any intended removal of
significant coating surface area
• Immerse the component or printed circuit board assembly into HumiSeal® Stripper
1091
• The rate at which the existing coating will dissolve will depend upon its thickness and
age. Heating HumiSeal® Stripper 1091 will increase its effectiveness significantly
• Some silicone coatings may take as long as 8 hours to dissolve
• Clean up with IPA
