1. HUMBLENESS AND MODESTY IN ISLAM
 The main pillar of ibadah (worship) is the namaz or prayer. The congregational
namaz (prayer) is performed in many rows where all men stand before ALLAH
Almighty as equals. There is no particular place for the powerful or rich, the
humble and poor are not relegated to the back rows. Each man bows his head in
humbleness knowing that his brothers on each side of him are equally significant
in the sight of ALLAH Almighty. Just one thing raises one woman or man above
another piety. Righteousness or true piety or is not attainable without cultivating
a sense of humbleness.
 ALLAH Almighty says in Surah Luqman 31:18;
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt]
toward people and do not walk through the earth
Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

ABOUT ALLAH ALMIGHTY AND
RECOGNIZING HIS GREATNESS, LOVING
HIM, VENERATING HIM AND BEING IN
FEAR OF HIM; AND IT COMES FROM
PERCEPTIVE ABOUT ONESELF AND ONE’S
OWN WEAKNESSES AND FAULTS. ALLAH
ALMIGHTY GIVES THIS CHARACTERISTIC
TO THOSE WHO WORK HARD AND
STRUGGLE TO BECOME CLOSE TO ALLAH
ALMIGHTY THROUGH DEEDS OF
GOODNESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.
• Humbleness is one of the greatest blessings ALLAH Almighty can bestow on a human being. It allows a
person to achieve genuine submission. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was truly submitted to ALLAH
Almighty; His character was one of complete humbleness and humility and based on sincere trust in
ALLAH Almighty. Prophet (PBUH) was a model of humbleness and kindness. In fact, the characteristics
that are displayed by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were the exact opposite of arrogance and pride.
Every aspect of His life reflected humility, even His talking, walking, eating or sitting. The Prophet
(PBUH) did not behave towards other people as if He was better than they were not, nor did He ever
reject manual work.

3.  The companions of Prophet (PBUH) and the early generations of Muslims
understood the exact concept of humility and humbleness. They behaved
humbly towards ALLAH Almighty and mankind because of their love for
ALLAH, and their fellow man, and panic of punishment in the hereafter,
eternal life. A person who is truly humble and modest is the one who is
truly blessed, he remembers ALLAH Almighty, the most omnipotent and
great.
 The best way to achieve humility and humbleness in the heart is contained
in the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), Messenger of ALLAH Almighty, who
prescribed many ways to teach His companions how to be modest.

4.  Verse 18:17 of Holy Quran;
And [had you been present], you would see the sun
when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right,
and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were
[laying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of
ALLAH. He whom ALLAH guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He
leaves astray – never will you find for him a protecting guide.
