The main themes covered are change, identity, persuasion, and choices. The learning areas include history, geography, economics, business, civics, citizenship, and English. Assessment includes NAPLAN testing in May and WAMSE testing in August, along with opportunities for moderating student work samples between schools. Pedagogy focuses on developing general capabilities and incorporating cross-curricular priorities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and engagement with Asia.
