This document provides instructions for an 8th grade social studies history-makers project. Students will study influential individuals from history and consider how to make positive changes in areas like human rights, medicine, education, or the environment. They are asked to create a silhouette collage and 5 paragraph essay describing an issue they care about and how they will work to improve that issue in the future to make history themselves. The essential questions are about what local, national, or global issues speak to each student now and how they can make the world better regarding those issues.
