At Valuebound, we came across unique project opportunity where we had two part of and E-commerce store. In one part product description were added along with other pages content and this was built on Drupal 7. And other side, we had to build web store where user would be directed after clicking add to cart on product description page. We built this store in Drupal 8. 3. DRUPAL COMMERCE
Drupal Commerce is open-source eCommerce module which helps an
ecommerce website with functions like
● displaying products,
● checkout process,
● creating invoices,
● facilitates shipping and payment
Drupal commerce is a powerful yet flexible platform creating rich e commerce
experiences

4. INTRO
● Cart - collect items/services
● Checkout - Collects payment and customer information
● Order - The order is first created when a user adds a
product to a cart.
● The Order is actually the "cart" when it has a status of
"Shopping Cart."
● Drupal Commerce is an open eCommerce framework,
these statuses can be added with additional modules (like
shipping or customer profiles).

5. CHALLENGES
● Situation - We have two part of website
○ Product listing web page (website without commerce)
○ Commerce store - handling add to cart and everything after
related to buying process
● If a buyer adds a product to cart (button having URL that is linking
product content page to commerce store) it should be added on
commerce cart too
● Product should be available for search in both sites. This required
product content to be imported as a commerce product
○ Product needed to be fetched to commerce came as a content type

7. SOLUTION Approach
Add the product to cart programmatically
