The Picking Up Penny Mentality: Taking Advantage of OpportunityJerel Hill

This book, powerfully presenting an idea and conveying a wisdom-filled message, captures the reader’s attention with the purpose of stimulating thought. Jerel explains why most people are P.O.O.R (Passing Over Opportunities Regularly) and subconsciously denying the constant stream of wealth that is available for everyone’s use.
With a book title that creates curiosity, the author invites you on a mind-transforming journey, that will convince you to think twice about passing pennies on the ground.
The document discusses lessons learned from organizing 14 business conferences. Key points include: learning to speak confidently in front of large audiences in English through practice with small groups; the importance of networking and sharing content to build expertise and connections; how organizing and speaking at conferences adds value for one's LinkedIn profile; and that networking requires actively engaging with others rather than passive behaviors like phone checking. Emily Shaw was creating campaign posters with the phrase "Surviving or Thriving?" She found that the original font she chose made the H look like a U at a quick glance. To fix this, she used the polygon lasso tool to cut out the dash and move it higher up on the H to make it clearer to read quickly. When designing the posters, she experimented with different logos she had made. While they all worked nicely in different ways, the yellow speech bubble colors contrasted too much with her color scheme. So she changed the bubble's color to better fit the look of the posters.

Valentines Ideas - Valentine’s Day ‘Honey, if You Love Me’Ken Sapp
This document describes a Valentine's Day game called "Honey, If You Love Me" where one person tries to get someone of the opposite sex to smile. Players sit in a circle while one person goes around saying "Honey, if you love me, will you please smile?" If the targeted person smiles, they become the new center player. The game teaches that true love is unconditional, not based on things like "I will love you if..." or "If you love me you will...". Rules like no body contact may be needed to keep the game friendly. The document also advertises a Holiday Collection book with over 300 pages of activity ideas for various holidays.

Lauren Hom, Hom Sweet Hom
Overview
In early 2016, Lauren packed up her studio in New York City in pursuit of the ultimate form of inspiration: travel. After exploring the world for a year, she was surprised to discover that she didn’t feel more inspired than before. The truth is, she’d actually found more inspiration for her work in her normal, everyday life than in her epic world trip.
That’s not to say that travel can’t be wildly inspiring – it totally can be. But what if she told you that there’s just as much inspiration in fighting with your spouse as there is in traveling the world? Would you believe her if she told you that she’s gotten more inspiration from a night of drinking than a night of watching TED talks? What Lauren hopes to teach you today is that EVERY experience in your life can be used as inspiration. You are the secret source of inspiration you never even knew you had – you just need to know where to look.
Objective
To inspire the audience with stories of how I’ve turned mundane events into powerful creative projects & how they are more than capable of doing the same
Target Audience
Designers and entrepreneurs who want to get more eyes on their work & feel more creatively inspired
Five Things Audience Members Will Learn
Every experience is inspiration – even the bad stuff
There is magic in the mundane
Relatable ideas are shareable ideas
Use your skills to solve your problems & you’ll solve them for others too
The secret to creativity is simply paying attention

Anyone who is into marketing knows the struggles, the tools needed, and what makes it a success. Or do we? Sometimes we think we know, until, doing it becomes more of a task than we thought. No visitors, tons of traffic and no sales, and even lack of discipline creates frustration. One of the things I have learned throughout my journey, you can't reinvent the wheel. Do what works for others. There is a reason so many do it similar, it works! Now that I have found success, I'm striving to share it with others, the way others shared it with me. I am thankful they did share there tools and experience, instead of keeping it to themselves.

After designing a cover and formatting the book, she published both print and e-book versions. Though the project was challenging, Hughley is proud of her accomplishment and believes the experience prepared her for a future career in writing or publishing.
Chloe Porter created a music magazine to represent the rock/indie genre. She took inspiration from existing magazines like Q and Kerrang but aimed to make her masthead original and eye-catching. She portrayed the artist featured on the cover as a rebel through her facial expression and pose. Feedback on the magazine was mostly positive, with some suggestions to improve the font. Through constructing the magazine, Chloe learned new skills with Photoshop and using a blog to present her work.

2. 2015: An Encounter With George
I was inspired from the moment I came across
Issue 17 featuring George Clooney.
I’d finished another day at the office and was
looking to kill time on my train ride home with
my usual Harper’s Bazaar pick up.
Then I met Collective Hub.
Flicking through the pages, I was amazed at
how even from the surface, the words and
stories on each page seemed to ignite
something in me I hadn’t felt for a long time.
3. 2015: To Be Daring + Disruptive
Not long after, I bought my ticket to Daring +
Disruptive and listened to each guest speaker
talk through their triumphs, failures and
everything in between.
I was a woman on fire.
For months prior, I’d been shying away from
speaking to my bosses about moving forward
in my role because I didn’t believe I was made
to go any further than I had already come.
Long story short, I had that conversation I’d
been replaying in my mind and…

5. 2016: The Love Continues
Month after month, I’d devour each issue with
the excitement I’d previously reserved for
every new Harry Potter release.
I began to recommend this inspiration piece to
everyone I knew - and it began to catch on
amongst people in my inner circle (and they’re
a tough crowd to impress!)
6. 2016: The Next Frontier
Following my promotion to Head of Social, I
was again in a place of discomfort and
uncertainty.
I had overnight, become an intrapreneur with
a team of seven that I was responsible for and
accountable to.
Again, I was seeking inspiration. Something or
someone to help me navigate the path I had
opened myself up to.
I found it in Kick, Start, Smart.
8. 2017: A Point Of Ongoing
Discussion
Collective Hub has continued to be a
source of inspiration and motivation not
only for my professional development +
growth, but for what I review within the
work that I do.
Featuring in my article Beating the Shadowy
World Of Instagram, the social presence
Collective Hub have built and maintained
has been a talking point in most of my
conversations whenever discussing a brand
to watch.
9. Words: The Greatest Source Of
Magic
With Lisa’s words this year inspiring my
piece for International Women’s Day,
which looked to highlight the words which
had pushed me beyond my own glass
ceiling and enabled me to talk myself into
the most uncomfortable, yet revolutionary
conversations I’ve ever had.
Article: Thank You, March 7 2017
11. Issue 47: Wellness + Self Love
It was then with this article that I was reminded of
wellness. A concept I’d obviously known but
somehow forgotten in my pursuit of progress.
Wellineux is what came next. I’d read about
mentorship programs and knew it would become a
real asset to my growth not only as a leader but as a
person.
What I learned inspired my piece, Listen To The Voice
That Won't Use Words, where I hoped to share a
really honest and open message on the importance
of remembering to love ourselves and what we
stand for.
12. Issue 47: Wellness x Wellineux
I’m now currently in the process of working with
Wellineux to find the right fit for my next phase.
A mentor.
13. So in short, thank you.
Thank you for paving the way. Thank you for never backing down.
And most importantly, thank you for proving that behind every successful
woman, is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.
