It's wonderful for the players. It's a huge challenge and a huge responsibility for us to get our act together, get our butts in gear. Phil isn't going to bail us out because of our mental lapses.

The government may have slashed personal income tax rates in the coming budget, as it has already laid the groundwork for tax compliance. After years of watching cash being hoarded and the vulgar consumption of hoarders, the public is gleeful. Stashes in underground storerooms, suitcases and mattresses have become worthless overnight— deserving punishment and a remarkable exercise of powers by the government. Imagine the money circulating in the economy as a network of pipes through which water is flowing. How efficiently each one of us can draw from and deposit into this network depends not just on how much water is there, but also on how fast it is moving.
The banking system manages this network, and the efficiency of this system is known as liquidity. Now imagine millions of unscrupulous players coming in and building little storage tanks, siphoning off the water for their own future use.
"The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it. VISION will ignite the fire of passion that fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence. Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action. VISION has no boundaries and knows no limits. Our vision is what we become in life."
"Whatever it takes.”
“No excuses, no explanations.”

“America should be free ground - all of it. Not divided by a line between slave state and free, all the way from here to the Pacific Ocean. No man has to bow. No man born to royalty. Here, we judge you by what you do, not by who your father was. Here, you can be something. Here, is the place to build a home. But it's not the land. There's always more land. It's the idea that we all have value - you and me. What we're fighting for, in the end, we're fighting for each other.”

Getting around Toronto is difficult, and it’s the subject of many private discussions throughout the city. Despite all we have to say, there is currently no independent publication circulating that is solely dedicated to discussing transit. Enter the Toronto Transit Zine, of which you reading the very first issue.
The purpose of this zine is to open discussion around the many issues surrounding mobility in the Toronto area. We aim to get past divisions such as ‘subway vs LRT’ or ‘downtown vs (inner) suburbs,’ and discuss the details that really matter.

It's no secret that the healthcare system needs some work. In fact, it's not really a system at all. It's confusing, it's difficult to navigate, and it's too expensive. When you combine that with some of the demographic trends that you see in our country — the population is getting older, we're experiencing more chronic disease — it gets even more complicated and more expensive. And consumer expectations are changing dramatically as well. So, this creates an opportunity for an organization like ours to lead this digital transformation.

When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work.
I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.

The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

1. Honolulu Authority For Rapid Transit (HART)
Honolulu City Council & HART
Trust Us – We Care
Honolulu City Council Chairman Tommy Waters
I will continue to advocate for solutions to ensure that we can better manage tourism and
ensure that our local residents do not have to bear the burden of closing budget shortfalls by
paying more in property taxes.
Honolulu City Councilman Calvin Say
Why should you consider giving them all of that — or a portion of it — when they can't even
manage their money? They can't even manage their project if they have a $3.5 billion
shortfall.
Honolulu City Councilwoman Carol Fukunaga
“It's kind of a spooky time” for hotels. As for rail, “we know so little about what is actually
do-able and possible, and there has not really been a very open discussion about what the
alternatives are, and what each alternative costs”.
2. State House Finance Committee Chairwoman Sylvia Luke
[T]he approach Say is suggesting is “actually kind of not a responsible approach by the
council members, only because this is a city project, and we have always made it clear that it
was a city project. I think the Legislature is not inclined, especially if now there is a
permanent source (of funding) that they could rely on,” she said, referring to the new option of
a city hotel room tax. “I would be surprised if the Legislature will take a look at this issue
again.” Besides, state lawmakers approved two previous bailouts of rail when it veered over
budget, delivering an extra $1.8 billion to support rail in 2015, and another $2.4 billion in
2017 to rescue the project. “It was difficult the second time,” Luke said. “I think even the rail
proponents in the Legislature are becoming more skeptical, and for the council to think that
this is the state's problem, I think they will be met with a chilling response.” She also said the
city needs to “provide all these answers that the public is looking for” that clearly explain how
rail has blown though billions of dollars while falling years behind schedule. No portion of the
rail line has opened to the public yet.
Honolulu Civil Beat (CB)
If the city must pony up still more cash for rail, local voters will probably prefer to have
visitors pick up the tab. That may be particularly appealing at a time when many Hawaii
residents seem to have soured on the impacts of mass tourism. From that perspective,
imposing a new city hotel room tax to raise more money for rail works well politically.
Mufi Hannemann, President, Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association
CB: “Imposing a new city hotel room tax to raise more money for rail works well politically.”
Hanneman: “Absolutely, it does. It makes the tourism industry again the whipping boy.”
