Honeypot is a project by the BBC to develop personalized programming and content recommendations by storing collections of content around individual users, enabled by cross-platform APIs. It uses semantic tagging to help users make sense of large amounts of content and facilitate discovery and sharing. Developed by just two developers with UX support, Honeypot aims to prototype ways to surface personalized recommendations across multiple platforms like Facebook, BBC websites, and other social networks and gadgets.
