Honduras has 18 departments and gained independence from Spain in 1821, celebrating this annually on September 15. The country is one of the poorest in the world and has historically been governed by military leaders, though tourism and foreign investment have helped drive recent economic growth as Honduras modernizes with new infrastructure like malls and fast food chains.

3. Honduras is one of the country in Central America. It has eighteen departments their name are Atlantica, Choluteca, Colon, Comayagua, Cortes, El Paraiso, Francisco Morazon, Gracias a Dios, Intibuca,Islas de la Bahia, La Paz,Empira, Ocotepeque, Orlancho, Santa Babara, Valle, and Yora.

4. Honduras receive her independent in 1821 from Spain and celebrates it as one of their national holiday.

5. The celebration of September 15 is very big. The school children practice marching for that day. They march all day long and then go to a carnival to celebrate more, it’s a big even for them.
