This document summarizes an presentation on HIV prevention for men who have sex with men (MSM) in Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically Mozambique. It outlines that HIV prevalence is higher among MSM in Mozambique than the general population, ranging from 3.7% to 9.1% in different cities. Interventions discussed include information/education, free condoms and lubricant distribution, and referrals to voluntary counseling and testing and treatment. Challenges facing these efforts include a lack of legal registration and resources for community-based organizations working with MSM as well as limited capacity and representation.
