2. What is Therma Steel? ThermaSteel is a unique patented process utilizing the power of composite technology. A structural grade, opposing double steel framing members with rigid, fire retardant Modified Expanded Polystyrene Resin (EPS) bonded to the steel frames, forms a thermally broken, light weight composite building component that provides structural framing, insulation, sheathing, and a vapor barrier in one, fast high-tech step. ThermaSteel components may be used for exterior and interior walls, partitions, floors, and roofs. Combinations of pre-insulated components are screwed together to form a unique high performance energy shell that is fast, lightweight and extremely strong, with superior thermal properties. Rough openings for doors and windows are formed during the manufacturing process. For more information, contact Hi-Tech Building Systems 866-241-4390 www.Hi-TechBuilding.com

9. JOB SNAPSHOTS Rosewood Village . Project Manager: Ray Perkins Assistant Project Manager: Nida Campbell Superintendent: John Woodson Start /Finish: 4/07 - 8/08 Project Scope: An 84-unit assisted living facility at the new Hollymead Towne Center, approximately 60000 square feet of new construction. Challenges: Initial borings were done only on the site perimeter, of the enormous vein of granite running through the center of the site caused some trouble. Thanks to John Woodson, his brothers, and the crew at Rosewood Village, we not only got the rock out of the way, but we will finish the project on time. The project has evolved significantly from the initial design, and the Rosewood team has been able to manage all the changes, stay on schedule and keep the owner happy. “The job has been a constant moving target,” says Ray. Interesting aspects of construction: Similar to the Randolph, Martin Horn utilized ThermaSteel wall panels on the exterior. This is a light-gauge metal framing system for the walls, which comes in panels. The crew put it together almost like piecing together a puzzle. “The process went smoothly. It was very successful,” says Ray. For more information, contact Hi-Tech Building Systems 866-241-4390 www.Hi-TechBuilding.com

Located Downtown on a tight site next to a busy street, the 79,928 sq. ft. mixed-use building consists of six commercial spaces and 16 residential units, including two penthouses. The project's challenge was coordinating amongst-and satisfying-numerous clients, from the building owners to customers buying customized residential and commercial condos. Martin Horn assembled a top-notch team to maintain the project's high standards and ensure it ran smoothly.
