Dayanand Saraswati was a Hindu reformer and founder of the Arya Samaj. He was born in 1824 in Gujarat to Karshanji Lalji Tiwari and Yashodabai. He received an early education studying Hindu scriptures and later pursued more formal education in subjects like logic and philosophy. Dayanand founded the Arya Samaj organization, which established 10 principles for social and spiritual betterment based on the Vedas. He also started the Shuddhi movement to encourage individuals to return to Hinduism if they had converted to another religion.
