Historical hydroelectric generation from 6 dams in Puerto Rico averaged 124.9 million kWh per year from 2001-2012, with the Dos Bocas/Caonillas dam generating the most at 73 million kWh in that year. Preliminary projections estimate these dams could potentially generate 264.2 million kWh per year, a 110% increase over the historical 10-year average, with upgrades to existing infrastructure and turbines at several locations.
