Objective :
To select a suitable nozzle material by studying the
temperature distribution under rapid re-firing of the
GD-40 system.
Methodology:
2D compressible flow analysis is carried out in a
nozzle.
Gas temperature at the nozzle surface is extracted
& applied on the nozzle as the bulk temperature for
solving transient non-linear thermal convection.
Results from CFD is used to find stress and
deflection under non-linear structural analysis.

HINODE – Success Study – Refrigerator
Objective :
To carryout flow and thermal analysis of a
household refrigerator for reducing the energy
consumption by increasing its overall efficiency
Methodology:
Optimising the refrigerant flow in the cooling coil
circuit (condenser, capillary, evaporator and
suction tube), will improve the Co-efficient of
performance, which in turn reduces the
compressor power consumption.
Optimising the air flow path inside the chamber,
will ensure the desired flow distribution and
temperature distribution inside the chamber. (ex.
Avoiding stagnant air at corners, and maintaining
lower temperature in the Freezer and Chiller, and
higher temperature in the Crisper).
Optimising the insulation material, between the
chamber and outer panel will reduce the loss of
refrigerant effect inside the chamber by reducing
the amount of heat transfer from atmosphere.

Optimising the air flow path inside the chamber, will ensure the desired flow distribution and temperature distribution inside the chamber. (ex.
