The 1920's Featherwall Consulting, physicians began to realize that documentation not only helped their patients, but it also helped themselves with their practice. The downfall of documenting everything on paper was that it was limited to the facility in which it created, and over time, legibility of procedures and results could become difficult. Flipping through paper charts is not only time consuming, but it could be potentially dangerous as papers could smoothly go missing, and incorrect treatment for a patient could occur. Medical records are now available electronically available for accessibility at all times and thus reduce healthcare personals countless hours of going through paper charts. Times can be assigned to treat patients effectively as lab results are available for viewing moments after they have been verified (UIC., 2017).
The concept of patient-centered care is one of the recent developments in healthcare that has received increased attention. It has played a vital role in creating a new framework for improving systems and defining -healthcare quality. Information is critical to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. It has evolved recently to focus on the acquisition of data, storage, and its use in the healthcare setting with more emphasis on the use of technology. For instance, the information on previous admissions, diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions required to address health issues in later times. Another essential function that health informatics has used to undertake the coordination of care within and across systems besides facilitating the availability of relevant information (Parvanta, C. F., 2015). In other words, we cannot talk of quality care without factoring in the criticality of high quality of information within the equation.
The first one is credible excellence. It provides one with the robustness they need to arrive at and deliver on reliable solutions. Patient sovereignty is another factor that should inform the use of technology in the healthcare setting. The independence of the patients in terms of expressing themselves and providing information on their will without coercion provides all the motives to consider the effort to foster patient-centered care. The other parameter is that which regards privacy. Privacy of information is of the utmost importance when it comes to healthcare management (Wang, J., 2018).
Electronic Health Records are one of the standard technologies used in the healthcare setting that contain information regarding the diagnosis, immunization, and treatment of patients. Mobile Access is another technology used in the field of health information management. It is mainly used for storing the information belonging to a patient remotely in the cloud so that it is accessed anywhere. Unified Communications have also been vital in information sharing and are especially great for consulting outside help. Unified communications are assisti.

Guidelines
There are several guidelines for technology use that Feather fall could implement in health information management. For starters, the medical staff should get the relevant training required to utilize the technology to facilitate the effective acquisition, analysis, and protection of patient information. Training ensures they can tackle any challenges they may encounter to collect accurate data and analyze it in a way that benefits patients. Additionally, the medical staff needs to ensure that the devices they use are beyond the reach of unauthorized individuals. This is crucial in promoting patient confidentiality/privacy and securing pertinent data does not get into the wrong hands (Ozair et al., 2018). Finally, medical practitioners should provide feedback about their experiences to ensure that the technology they use can be improved in the future.
Standard Technologies
There are various standard technologies used in health information management. For starters, concerning record keeping, some of the traditional EHR technologies include Epic Systems and Meditech. Many institutions use these two systems due to their departmental functionality and extensive usability. RingCentral Video is a standard technology for videoconferencing that facilitates open communication and interactive communications among healthcare providers. Different practitioners can share information and work together in real-time to facilitate effective patient care. Finally, there is the use of Vendor-Neutral Archives (VNAs) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) when it comes to processing and storing the medical images of patients (Sirota-Cohen et al., 2019).

2) There are two main types of PHRs - tethered PHRs connected to healthcare providers and untethered standalone PHRs.
3) PHRs can empower patients, improve communication between patients and providers, and increase patient safety through better access to health information. However, they also face challenges regarding data security, privacy, and digital literacy.
The document discusses questions regarding a healthcare system's vendor selection process for an IT project. It recommends the types of information an organization should provide to vendors in a Request for Information (RFI) and gather from vendors in the early planning stages. This includes vendor background, technical requirements, functionality, implementation processes, and training. An RFP with more specific details is issued to a select few vendors.

Explain how the globalization of healthcare can impact the improvement and outcome of healthcare results and subsequently improve healthcare costs.
The globalization of healthcare has provided opportunities for many organizations to rapidly develop their products and to expand their network of customers. But with this globalization, we also need to realize there are also a number of important economic and public health concerns.
Healthcare organizations have an obligation to understand the interdependencies inherent in their supply chains, and to examine their supply chain practices through a strategic lens focused on the public's health. We are seeing changes in where and how many healthcare products are produced and this is not always in the best interest of U.S. hospitals or our patients.

The role of managers and technology
As technology is becoming a big part of the health care systems, the role of health information managers is becoming more significant. There is a large amount of information related to the patients in a single hospital; the managers must analyze and organize this information by storing it in electronic health records. This helps keep the information about the patient's medical condition and any other medical history on a cloud that the internet can access. The manager should have enough knowledge related to technology to help him monitor technological aspects (Alolayyan, 2020). The managers must also ensure that the staff members have the required training and information related to the technology used in the healthcare facility.

Assignment 1 Legal Aspects of U.S. Health Care System Administrat.docxbraycarissa250
Assignment 1: Legal Aspects of U.S. Health Care System Administration
Due Week 3 and worth 200 points
Prevailing wisdom reinforces the fact that working in U.S. health care administration in the 21st Century requires knowledge of the various aspects of health laws as they apply to dealing with medical professionals. Further, because U.S. health care administrators must potentially interact with many levels of professionals beyond the medical profession, it is prudent that they be aware of any federal, state, and local laws that may be applicable to their organizations. Thus, their conduct is also subject to the letter of the law. They must evaluate the quality of their professional interactions and be mindful of the implications and ramifications of their decisions.
Nearly 65 million surgical operations were performed in 2015 in the U.S. resulting in an estimated 200,000 deaths from complications or other post-operative issues (Ghaferi, Myers, Sutcliffe, & Pronovost, 2016). Ongoing innovation in healthcare can improve patient outcomes. According to the Harvard Business Review article, The Next Wave of Hospital Innovation to Make Patients Safer, over the past several decades, there have been three distinct waves of surgical improvement: technical advancements, standardizing procedures, and high reliability organizing.
Assume the role of a top health administrator at We Care Hospital. You are interested in propelling the hospital to the next level by applying for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. However, you want to ensure surgical outcomes for patient morbidity and mortality rates. You begin by researching the Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) aimed to improve adherence to quality protocols. You need to ensure the hospital policy is consistent with the law and that the hospital is correctly reporting Sentinel Events to the Joint Commission, a hospital regulatory agency.
Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:
1. Analyze how standardizing procedures and documenting steps can improve outcomes when performing a complex procedure. Review the peer-reviewed journal article, The Next Wave of Hospital Innovation to Make Patients Safer. Articulate your position as the top administrator concerned about the importance of professional conduct and negligence in SCIP quality guidelines.
2. High Reliability Organizing emphasizes the varying actions that can affect patient safety given that standardized systems ignore the fact that each patient is different. Ascertain the major ramifications when the health care team “fails to rescue” the patient. Identify what hospital policies should be in place and identify previous case laws.
3. Analyze the four (4) elements required of a plaintiff to prove medical negligence.
4. Discuss the overarching duties of the health care governing board in mitigating the effects of medical non- ...

HIM 500 Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: Imagine you have been contracted to consult on the recent developments at the Featherfall Medical Center. Featherfall has been struggling of late; it
has had a series of problems that have prompted your hiring. It has faced the following issues:
1. Featherfall has recently violated several government regulations regarding the current state of its technology and how it is being used. The technology
system is vastly out of date, and staff are not always using the technology that is in place or they are using the technology inappropriately. These
problems have lost the institution lots of money for not meeting government regulations and have caused operational and ethical problems from
inefficient and ineffective use of technology.
2. The staff at Featherfall are not well-trained on the use of technology and do not communicate appropriately about technology use. The roles that
pertinent to your consult are the health information management team, the clinical staff (doctors, nurses, etc.), and administrative staff. The health
information management team uses proper coding practices, and the current technology system serves them well, despite its age. However, other roles
in the hospital have had issues with the system. Clinical staff, for instance, have had record-keeping issues both due to lack of training on the system and
the system itself being out of date. Administrative staff within the organization have taken issue with the lack of communication about the technology
and its use between the various roles. When the current technology system was chosen many years ago, the needs of these various roles were not
considered.
In this milestone, you will submit a discussion of the history of healthcare information management/informatics and the current landscape in terms of
technology. This milestone will set the stage for your project.
Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Preparation for Consult: In this section of your final project, you will prepare for your consultation on the organization’s technology choice. To prepare,
you will analyze the field of health information management for determining standard technologies and guidelines related to technology use in order to
inform your technology selection.
A. Analyze key historical events in the field of health informatics for how technology has been used that could inform the management of health
information. Be sure to support your response with appropriate examples.
B. Determine guidelines for technology use in the field of health information management that Featherfall could implement. Be sure to support
your response with research.
C. Determine the standard technologies currently used in the field of health information management. Be sure to support your response with
research. For example, what record-keeping technologies are typically used in the field?

Electronic Health Record (EHR) is continuing to evolve in today’s medical facilities. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act mandated health organizations to transition to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by January 1, 2014 in order to maintain Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement (USF Health, 2019). For this week’s discussion I will reflect on the module resources on digital information tools and technologies. I will discuss the healthcare technologies used in the health organization I work for. Lastly, I will reflect on any possible health technologies and the impact it has on nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
The health organization I work for switched to EPIC software for EMR two years ago. EPIC is user friendly for nurses as well as patients. EPIC corresponds to MyChart giving patients access to on their medical records (MyChart, 2019). I work in outpatient Endoscopy clinic where part of patient After Visit Summary (AVS) we educate patients on the use of MyChart and provide them with a code so they can access MyChart from home. Patients can access their medical records, and view lab results, make appointments, communicate with their provider, and pay their medical bills with MyChart (2019). ProVation is another form of technology used in the facility I work for. ProVation is used by the physicians where they document the Endoscopy procedure outcomes and results noted by the physician (ProVation, 2019). The physicians can document their findings as well as list out orders or management solutions for the patients (ProVation, 2019).
EHR has made it possible for nurses to provide efficient patient care as it has given us the ability to share patient information with other providers and health care organization departments, such as pharmacy, laboratory, etc (HealthIT, 2018). Patient care and experiences are improving because patients are being included in their care and they can make decisions in the plan of care. Having quick access to medical records and information results in increased patient satisfactions. Also, by combining patient portals inpatient healthcare facilities has resulted in a decrease of medical errors and adverse events (Dyes et al, 2017).
EHR poses a list of challenges with the main one being security safety. Web-based technology does put us at increased risk of breach of information by hackers. It can also be challenging for individuals to navigate web-based health technology, resulting in decreased patient satisfaction. Our older population is reluctant when it comes to using technology, they prefer paper written information. Documentation errors are associated with improper utilization, due to insufficient training (David, 2017).
In conclusion, EHR comes with many benefits as well as challenges. It has improved qu ...

Information technology (IT) has undergone significant improvements thereby requiring organizations to integrate these technologies to remain competitive. Considerably, health institutions are striving to improve primary care delivery, a facet that can be attained by incorporating the use of IT in service delivery. Information technology systems enable these institutions to streamline their processes based on its ability to improve the communication aspect of the system. Enhanced communication between employees and management simplify the organization’s operations as information can be shared in real time. Notably, healthcare institutions have priorities that must be addressed adequately to ensure that both the patients and stakeholders are satisfied with the organization’s service delivery system. Based on this, the institutions ought to retain IT management personnel to sustain its processes. This paper discusses the responsibilities and characteristics of the Chief Information and Chief Technology Officers. Additionally, the paper outlines how technologies can be used to improve healthcare processes, approaches to prevent misuse of information by upholding data privacy, strategies for organizations to train providers in using IT, and best practices for efficient IT alignment with strategic planning initiatives.
Characteristics and Roles of a CTO and a CIO
Often people confuse the two important senior leadership roles within the health care organization, the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer (Wager, Lee and Glaser 2013). Despite this, they have distinct tasks that must be performed to ensure the smooth running of the healthcare organization. Primarily, the CTO ensures that the institution’s services are tailored to meet the needs of the consumers. Notably, technological innovations are continually evolving thereby the organizations should retain an individual who is conversant with the new changes whenever they occur. In this regard, the CTO has the responsibility of advising top-level executives on strategic decisions regarding technology (Stephens, Ledbetter, Mitra & Ford, 2011). Additionally, the CTO identifies, evaluates and examines high return and high-risk IT systems with the potential of its application within the organization. As a result, the CTO must assess and monitor technologies for use in better service delivery in the future. The CTO’s focus is the client whereby he/she uses technology to foster collaboration amid suppliers and management to promote the organization’s services (Stephens, Ledbetter, Mitra & Ford, 2011). As the CTO works in the external environment, he/she can comprehend what is working in other institutions and apply it within the organization.
Electronic Health Records And The Healthcare FieldDiane Allen
Electronic health records and the transition from paper records to digital systems has significantly impacted the healthcare field over the last couple decades. While EHR technology has been available, many hospitals were slow to adopt it and still used paper records. The main problem is the lack of utilization of available IT resources in healthcare organizations. Proper implementation of EHRs can help organizations improve quality of care through increased medical efficiency, reduced costs, improved research, and earlier disease detection. Fully adopting EHRs remains a challenge as only a small percentage of physicians and hospitals were reported to have fully functional systems in 2008.
The key electronic health record challenges that providers face in 2018 relate to security, interoperability, and physician burnout. Security breaches continue to plague the healthcare industry and reducing the benefits of EHRs. Achieving true interoperability between health systems is difficult due to a lack of standardization and high costs. Physician burnout is also a major problem caused by the increased workload of maintaining patient records in EHR systems.

Stage 2: Sharing DataA. Introduction
Medical care institutions have provided care for their patients since old times before the digital technology era that we are in today. Medical institutions like clinics and hospitals which existed during those previous times, used paper based methods to get most of their basic operations done within the institutions. Operations like obtaining, saving and updating customer details, keeping appointment schedules, and sharing customer data with other institutions. Now in the modern era of technology, the same operations are needed but are simpler now than back then, thanks to digital technology.
The sharing of data between institutions is necessity in the medical profession in for various reasons. The institutions that require such data have different reasons for that as well. For these reasons, data sharing between institutions needs to be properly set and streamlined process for maximum efficiency.B. Need to Share Data
Of the many institutions that exist in the medical industry, two institutions are very crucial to the process of administering medical help to patients; Laboratories and Insurance companies.
Laboratories are essential to the process of diagnosing and treating an illness in a patient for various reasons. First of all, a patient’s diagnosis process can be a difficult problem and a rather complicated one too. When a doctor listens to a patient describe the symptoms of an illness, he/she gets a general idea of what a patient is suffering from and may need further information from a laboratory to confirm his findings. In such a scenario, the doctor sends the patient to a laboratory either within the institution or outside the institution. The laboratory will most definitely require accurate information about the patient to understand the basic nature of the condition of which the patient is required to be tested on, background information like allergies and any other relevant information. This information is usually given by the doctor or retrieved from data storage facilities like a file or a digital database.
Insurance companies are also essential in the process of treating a patient for various reasons. The major reason however is for the purposes of billing of patients expenses. These companies need information about the expenses incurred by a patient during treatment. Such information may include: laboratory test costs, drugs and medicine costs and doctor consultation fees. Proper communication and data sharing frameworks need to be put in place for this purpose as well.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) identified nursing informatics as "a specialty that integrates nursing, science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in nursing practice" (ANA, 2001, p.17). Healthcare and nursing informatics are both vastly growing fields within the medical field and are continuously incorporating new and evolving technology. Both have been around for the past three decades, at least. The technology boom at the turn of the century has helped informatics and information systems further evolve. Enhanced delivery of care, improved health outcomes, and advanced patient education are just a few aspects that have improved. With any new technology or innovation there are implications, some foreseeable and some that come to light after the unveiling of the new process or product: some impacts that are most notable are clinical, managerial, and policy implications. This paper explores the implications, (both constructive and adverse), that are the most notable in today's healthcare world within the healthcare and nursing informatics fields.

The document discusses the impact of the HITECH Act on healthcare organizations. It mandated the implementation of electronic health records and computerized physician order entry to qualify for incentive payments. While this helped organizations meet meaningful use criteria, clinicians were not always enthusiastic about new technologies being mandated. The Act essentially forced large healthcare providers like HCA to adopt health IT systems to remain compliant and profitable. Overall, the incentives influenced widespread adoption of health information technology in a way that aimed to improve quality of care over time through better data and care coordination.
Health institution requires quality data and information management to function effectively and efficiently. It is an understatement to say that many organizations, institutions or government agencies have become critically dependent on the use of database system for their successes especially in the hospital. This work aims at developing an improved hospital information management system using a function-based approach. An efficient HIMS that can be used to manage patient information and its administration is presented in this work. This is with the goal of eradicating the problem of improper data keeping, inaccurate reports, wastage of time in storing, processing and retrieving information faced by the existing hospital information system in order to improve the overall efficiency of the health institution. The system was developed with Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), and My Structured Query Language (MySQL). The new system was tested using data collected from Renewal Clinic, Ibadan, Nigeria was used as case study were the data for the research was collected and the system was tested. The system provides a vital platform of information storage and retrieval in hospitals.
This document discusses health information technology (HIT) problems at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's clinic. It begins with an introduction to HIT and its benefits, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and better patient experience. However, HIT implementation can be difficult and introduce new issues. The document then examines specific problems, including new errors from HIT systems, such as incorrect drug selections, and information overload for clinicians. It also notes challenges from the variety and complexity of clinic workflows. Interviews with clinic staff and doctors identified current HIT system problems at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia clinic.
Providers need to move towards real-time analytics that have become critical to demonstrate their quality of care, as reimbursement by government programs can be contingent upon how providers are measured in “Quality of Care”. For example, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015, also called the Permanent Doc Fix, changes the way Medicare doctors are reimbursed with the implementation of a merit based incentive. The performance-based pressure is huge, which makes it imperative that every provider consider technology solutions. Read more at https://www.solix.com/solutions/data-driven-solutions/healthcare/

At the end there is a short list of possible sites for the ethnography: Sikh, Islamic, Jewish, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist. Shumei. There are other religions and many other sites. Bahai is an interesting religion but you have to be invited to attend by a member.
Mormon the same.
If you have access to a Santeria or similar ceremony, great!
To make the project worthwhile choose a site as different from your own background as you can.
If you have a Christian or Catholic background do not do your paper on any kind of Christian or Catholic service.
You are welcome to attend a non-English language service as long as you understand the language being used.
Be sure to okay your choice with me. Some places that don’t work for this project are Scientology, the Self Realization Fellowship, the Kabbalah Center, SGI Buddhist, Hare Krishna.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Attend a religious activity that you’re curious about and would like to explore.
You must attend a service, not simply visit a religious site.
Examples: a mosque, temple, synagogue, gurdwara.
You can probably find an interesting place of worship near where you live or work.
It’s always a good idea to phone or email the place of worship before you attend.
Research methods must include participant/observation and informal conversation. One slightly more formal interview is desirable.
Be absolutely sure to allow time to stay after the service for food, lunch, other refreshment, or informal gathering. This may well be the most important part of your experience and will enable you to answer the question, “What meaning does this place and this service have for the participants?
You must go some place you’ve never been to before. Do NOT choose your own tradition or somewhere you’re even a bit familiar with. Choose somewhere entirely new and different.
The important thing is to come to the service as an outsider, with the eyes and ears of an anthropologist and take note of everything. Use the skills you’ve learned in this class.
You can attend alone or with a co-researcher or two from the class. Best, you can be the guest(s) of a classmate or someone else you know and discuss the event with them. Invite a classmate or two to attend a service from your tradition.
Do not write about an event you attended in the past. But you can use past experiences for comparison and reflection.
It is almost never appropriate to jot down notes during a religious service. Better, write everything you remember immediately after the event. Get sufficient detail to write what anthropologist Clifford Geertz called “thick”, or rich description.
In writing your paper use terms we've discussed in class and think about connections to the reading we’ve done and films we’ve seen.

1) Culture as a Skyscraper Model and 2) Culture as a Map.
Come up with several television shows that serve as examples of “quality” programs and “trashy” programs. What characteristics determine their quality (plots, subject matter, themes, characters…)?
Is there anything you can think of that is “universally trashy”? Or universally in good taste?
On the whole, are Americans seen as having good taste? Why or why not? Is there a country/culture that always seems tasteful in its cultural products?

C. Types of Data to be shared
Medical care institutions often need to share patient information with external institutions for the purposes of sa ...

Healthcare Informatics is defined as "the integration of health-care sciences, computer science, information science, and cognitive science to assist in the management of healthcare information" (Saba & McCormick, 2015, p. 232). Nursing Informatics is a subset of informatics, specific to the field and the role of the nurse in the healthcare setting.

Healthcare Informatics is defined as "the integration of health-care sciences, computer science, information science, and cognitive science to assist in the management of healthcare information" (Saba & McCormick, 2015, Pg. 232).

Please read the description of the Religion ethnography carefully and then ask me in class to explain anything that isn't clear. You can also email me with questions.

This unit's chapter discussed concerns about quality programming in the media. Different models for assessing culture were discussed:
1) Culture as a Skyscraper Model and 2) Culture as a Map.
Come up with several television shows that serve as examples of “quality” programs and “trashy” programs. What characteristics determine their quality (plots, subject matter, themes, characters…)?
Is there anything you can think of that is “universally trashy”? Or universally in good taste?
On the whole, are Americans seen as having good taste? Why or why not? Is there a country/culture that always seems tasteful in its cultural products?
Which model (Culture as Skyscraper or Culture as Map) makes more sense to you and why?

hip-hop concert (in-person or virtual/recorded live concert on DVD or streaming platform) of your choice
THIS month.
After the concert, write an
objective review (1000 - 1500 words) of the concert detailing your experience.
Write A Review and include those questions!!!
The review should include:
1. The names of the performing groups/artists; the date and location of the performance.
2. Describe the setting. Is it a large hall or an intimate theater? What type of audience demographic is there? Young or old? How do they respond to the music?
3. The different styles/genres of songs the artist(s) perform.
4. Use your notes and experience to describe the different musical elements (i.e. melody, harmony, timbre, technology, form, volume, etc.) you recognize in most (if not all) the songs/pieces.
5. Be sure to arrive on time to hear the
entire concert.
6. Attach a photo of the flyer, ticket, or webpage (or social media event) when you submit this assignment.
7. Describe your personal reaction to the concert. List reasons why you think it was successful or not. However, do not make this the center of your paper. It should be
one or two paragraphs at the end. Further, use
data to support your arguments about why it was successful or not successful. (e.g., How did people respond verbally and non-verbally? Was this based on your perception or was there a general consensus? If it is a consensus, then what facts do you have to support this?)
8. Try to do some background research on the genre or artist before and after you attend the concert. This is not a research paper, but if you use any information from any source (including the artist's website), you
must cite it both in-text and on a works-cited page.

Johnson & Johnson’s Tylenol Crisis
Background
“The killer’s motives remain unknown, but his — or her, or their — technical
savvy is as chilling today as it was 30 years ago.
On Sept. 29, 1982, three people died in the Chicago area after taking
cyanide-laced Tylenol at the outset of a poisoning spree that would claim seven
lives by Oct. 1. The case has never been solved, and so the lingering question —
why? — still haunts investigators.
Food and Drug Administration officials hypothesized that the killer bought
Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules over the counter, injected cyanide into the red
half of the capsules, resealed the bottles, and sneaked them back onto the shelves
of drug and grocery stores. The Illinois attorney general, on the other hand,
suspected a disgruntled employee on Tylenol’s factory line. In either case, it was a
sophisticated and ambitious undertaking with the seemingly pathological go.

They are all about Art and Politics in Renaissance Florence Period
1. Short Paper
Street corners, guild halls, government offices, and confraternity centers contained works of art that made the city of Florence a visual jewel at precisely the time of its emergence as a European cultural leader. In shared religious and secular spaces, people from the city of Florence commissioned altarpieces, chapels, buildings, textiles, all manner of objects – at home, interior spaces were animated with smaller-scale works, such as family portraits, birth trays, decorated pieces of furniture, all of which relied on patrons, artists, and audiences working with the beauty and power of sensory experience. Like people all over Europe, viewers believed in the power of images, and they shared an understanding of the persuasiveness of art and architecture. Florentines accepted the utterly vital role that art could play as a propagator of civic, corporate, religious, political and individual identity.
Select one or two of the test case studies [that is, talk about Cosimo or Lorenzo the Magnificent or Savonarola's impact on Florence or the new Republic under Soderini] from this Module on Art and Politics in Renaissance Florence, and explore your understanding of people in Florence, who was so alive to the power and communication possibilities in works of art, objects, and spaces throughout the city and beyond.

450-500 words that explores these key concepts;
In this discussion post, talk about the political and social messages that you can see in the various works of art commissioned by the Medici, all the while being aware of the debate that was circulating about power and religion. If the content of the work of art is religious, how does the work convey political messages?

Abstract
Background: Co-administration of multiple intravenous (IV) medicines down the
same lumen of an IV catheter is often necessary in the intensive care unit (ICU) while
ensuring medicine compatibility.
Aims and objectives: This study explores ICU nurses' views on the everyday practice
surrounding co-administration of multiple IV medicines down the same lumen.
Design: Qualitative study using focus group interviews.
Methods: Three focus groups were conducted with 20 ICU nurses across two hospi-
tals in the Thames Valley Critical Care Network, England. Participants' experience of
co-administration down the same lumen and means of assessing compatibility were
explored. All focus groups were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analysed using
thematic analysis. Functional Resonance Analysis Method was used to provide a
visual representation of the co-administration process.
Results: Two key themes were identified as essential during the process of co-admin-
istration, namely, venous access and resources. Most nurses described insufficient
venous access and lack of compatibility data for commonly used medicines (eg, anal-
gesics and antibiotics) as particular challenges. Strategies such as obtaining additional
venous access, prioritizing infusions, and swapping line of infusion were used to man-
age IV administration pro.

Summary Using meta-analysis, we compare three attitudinal outcomes (i.e., job satisfaction, affective
commitment, and turnover intent), three behavioral outcomes (i.e., interpersonal deviance,
organizational deviance, and work performance), and four health-related outcomes (i.e.,
general health, depression, emotional exhaustion, and physical well being) of workplace
aggression from three different sources: Supervisors, co-workers, and outsiders. Results from
66 samples show that supervisor aggression has the strongest adverse effects across the
attitudinal and behavioral outcomes. Co-worker aggression had stronger effects than outsider
aggression on the attitudinal and behavioral outcomes, whereas there was no significant
difference between supervisor, co-worker, and outsider aggression for the majority of the
health-related outcomes. These results have implications for how workplace aggression is
conceptualized and measured, and we propose new research questions that emphasize a multi-
foci approach. Copyright # 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Judicial OpinionsOverview After the simulation, justices writ.docxSusanaFurman449
Judicial Opinions
Overview: After the simulation, justices write judicial opinions in reaction to the oral argument, merits briefs, conference, and draft opinions as well as the facts of the case, Constitution, and case law. Justices circulate drafts so they know how their colleagues plan to rule and why, and so they can respond to one another in their final judicial opinion draft.
Instructions: You are a Supreme Court justice preparing an opinion for announcement. Read the case materials: case hypothetical, merits briefs, and judicial opinion drafts of your colleagues, and review your notes from oral argument and conference. Write a majority opinion resolving the major legal question in light of the facts of the case, Constitution, and case law, as well as all case materials: merits briefs, oral argument, and the views of your colleagues (in conference and draft opinions). Opinions must support an argument, refute counterarguments, and respond to attorneys (oral argument and/or merits briefs), and fellow justices (conference and/or draft opinions).
Opinions should contain the following five elements, in the following order:
1. an introductory statement of the nature, procedural posture, and prior result of the case;
2. a statement of the issues to be decided;
3. a statement of the material facts;
4. a discussion of the governing legal principles and resolution of the issues; and
5. the disposition and necessary instructions.
Each of these is developed further below.
Assessment: Complete opinions must support an argument, refute counterarguments, and respond to attorneys (oral argument and/or merits briefs), and fellow justices (conference and/or draft opinions). Strong opinions will be well organized, logically argued, and well supported through reference to and explanation of Supreme Court decisions and legal principles. Assessment rests on how well you make use of, identify, and explain relevant course material. It also rests on staying in character and not diverging from your justice’s political ideology and/or judicial philosophy.
Introduction
The purpose of the Introduction is to orient the reader to the case. It should state briefly what the case is about, the legal subject matter, and the result. It may also cover some or all of the following:
1. The parties: The parties should be identified, if not in the Introduction, then early in the opinion, preferably by name, and names should be used consistently throughout. (The use of legal descriptions, such as “appellant” and “appellee,” tends to be confusing, especially in multi-party cases.)
2. The procedural and jurisdictional status: relevant prior proceedings, and how the case got before the court should be outlined.
Statement of issues
The statement of issues is the cornerstone of the opinion; how the issues are formulated determines which facts are material and what legal principles govern. Judges should not be bound by the attorneys’.

Organization Needs
Government laws and regulations have been broken
because of Featherfall Medical Center's outdated technology.
Staffs are not only out of date in terms of skills, but the
technology itself is also outdated. Discrepancies in government
regulations, operational problems, and ethical dilemmas
stemming from poor technology implementation have all cost
the organization money. Featherfall's technological needs have
been whittled down to Alert (Admission, Discharge, and
Transfer ADT') and Intel, two eligible vendors (SOA
Expressway for Healthcare). These systems need to satisfy three
key goals: to meet personnel demands, protect the integrity of
healthcare, and meet government standards. Concerns about the
expense of implementing and maintaining a new system are high
2. because Featherfall contains consequences for earlier
infractions. Choosing a new computer system for Featherfall
Medical Center is the right decision. Due to legislative rules,
the medical center's obsolete system has severely impacted the
organization's finances. In addition, they have problems
maintaining the accuracy of their medical records. Some sectors
suffer from a lack of training and clear communication
channels. The medical center's new system must meet HIPAA
compliance rules, communicate effectively amongst itself, be
user-friendly for the personnel, and be under governme ntal
regulations to be accepted.
Technology System Recommendations
In my opinion, Intel is the best new technology for Featherfall
Medical Center (SOA Expressway for Healthcare). For
Featherfall Medical Center, I feel Intel is an attractive choice
because the system is simple to use and can be rapidly adopted
into regular tasks. The technology will also allow for more
outstanding communication between the staff. It will be easier
to manage patient care with Intel since the system will produce
discharge and transfer lists. In addition, the system can produce
records of patients by their doctors and patients by their
departments. The system is password-protected and features
multiple levels of security. HIPAA compliance has not yet been
achieved, but UHDDS is in place and working as intended. The
next release will meet HIPAA regulations (Durcevic, 2019).
Because of Intel's size and wealth of knowledge, you can be
assured that your health information is in good hands.
Financial Resources
Intel is more expensive than the Alert (ADT) system, but it
has the greater experience. As a company around for 30 years,
Intel has 364 medical systems in use. There was a total cost of
$2,028,000 for Intel and $1,587,000 for Alert. Compared to
Alert, Intel was $441,000 more expensive (SNHU, 2019).
Featherfall Medical Center will benefit from Intel's knowledge
and resources as a larger firm. System costs more, but it will
help with compliance, ethics, and governance at the medical
3. center.
Monitor Resources
Intel uses Ad-hoc reporting to keep tabs on how its innovative
health information system is being used (Durcevic, 2019). It is
possible to "address crucial business problems promptly by
developing an autonomous analysis, without the need
of waiting for standard analysis" using ad-hoc reporting. Ad hoc
reports aid in the decision-making process by highlighting the
most critical aspects of the organization's growth and
sustainability. Intel also generates regular reports to keep tabs
on how the new system is used.
Time Resource
Featherfall Medical Center can devote its resources to
implementing a new health informatics system because of its
location (Durcevic, 2019). Featherfall can provide staff training
on the new system to familiarize them with its workings.
Keeping an eye on the new platform's success and seeing
whether there have been any sound effects from adopting the
technology is a priority for them. They may also look at what
they can do to improve the agency and its patients.

History Of Healthcare Information Management/Informatics

History Of Healthcare Information Management/Informatics
Key Historical Events
Technology has improved tremendously in the last few decades.
The use of technology in the healthcare business has enhanced
the quality of treatment given to patients. Technology has been
a significant improvement in allowing healthcare personnel to
completely comprehend the patient and the patient's health
conditions, which can aid in providing appropriate health
treatment strategies (Braunstein, 2018). The professional
personnel at Feather fall Medical Center, Administrative
employees, and the health information management team must
adhere to current technological standards to benefit their
patients, staff, and organization. Health care informatics, in
general, is a science concerned with how information is
gathered and used in medicine and medical research. Its breadth
5. includes the numerous uses of data created across the health
care business and the usage of technologies to harness the
potential of that data. Informaticists are employed in analytics,
database management, data mining, information management,
and IT systems engineering.
Guidelines
Various technological guidelines can be used at Feather fall
Medical Center. Feather fall may set up a training program for
new workers to learn about electronic health systems and
current employees to learn about modern healthcare
technologies. Feather fall Medical Center would fulfill
government standards while not causing any ethical issues due
to technology if technology were used correctly. As a result of
effectively utilizing technology and adhering to regulatory
requirements, the medical institution will not incur any
financial losses.
Standard Technologies
To give better medical treatment to their patients, Feather fall
Medical Center will need to stay up with current technological
advancements. Electronic health records (EHR) are not only a
terrific means for healthcare practitioners to offer treatment, but
they are also an excellent way for them to interact with one
another about patients. The recording in the electronic health
record is critical since it will be used as a reference to improve
the patient's treatments. Personnel must understand how to
utilize electronic health records correctly and maintain the
information accurately.
Roles
The electronic health records would be helpful in Feather fall
Medical Center's health information management team, clinical
personnel, and administrative staff. They will all need to learn
how to use the electronic health record system and maintain the
current and correct records. The health information management
team will handle the health records. The clinical staff will
utilize them daily to provide patient care, and the administrative
staff will use them for billing purposes (Alotaibi and Federico,
6. 2017). The whole Feather fall Medical Center team will have to
work together to keep the technology up to date, which will
help them comply with government rules and guarantee that the
medical center does not lose money. Still, most significantly, it
will help patients receive better treatment.
Evaluate
The practical initiation of significant health information
technology needs careful preparation and constant, critical
assessment of progress. To assess the new health information
technology systems, everyone must collaborate to guarantee that
the electronic health systems are functioning effectively. The
health information management team will monitor how well the
new technology is functioning for them and offer assistance in
making any required improvements. Weekly reports on how the
system is operating for the medical facility should be generated.
Reports will be running to ensure that the medical institution
complies with all federal requirements while implementing the
new technology. Taking a lifecycle approach to installing
technology systems, we believe, will assist companies in
avoiding some of the frequent mistakes hence increase the
possibility of successful application and reception.

Milestone 2: Health Regulations and Laws Ramifications
Financial Impact in the Institution
If these issues aren't addressed, the institution faces civil
liability for security vulnerabilities and HIPAA violations,
8. which would have a significant financial impact. In addition,
the institution could be held liable for compensating the victims
in certain circumstances. Additionally, the hospital may be
subject to additional sanctions from regulatory organizations,
on top of compensating any affected patients.
Pinnacle Health, a three-hospital system in Pennsylvania, is a
good example. This hospital is held liable when a patient was
released on the wrong prescription, and a doctor could not order
Vitamin K to avoid bleeding in a newborn. An early plaintiff in
a civil complaint against the EHRs used by Pinnacle Health
during these incidents is Pinnacle Health. Many of these
lawsuits cost a lot of money and cause a lot of bad press for the
hospital, which can also have a financial impact (Schencker,
2016).
As a result of a physician's attempt to deactivate a personal
server on the NYP network that contained digitally protected
health information, New York-Presbyterian Hospital agreed to
pay $4.8 million in damages in 2014. As a result, Google
obtained the personal information of 6,800 patients in 2010. As
a result of data security breaches, the Department of Civil And
human rights has collected around $25 million in fines. In
addition to court expenses and fines levied by the federal and
state governments. Free credit monitoring and outsourcing of
hotline services may also be offered to patients whose data has
been hacked. Over two years, these payments can average $2
million for each healthcare center.
"Willful neglect" is a legal term that ignores regulations and
governmental laws. The penalties for knowingly flouting these
regulations can range from $1,000 to $10,000 each offense. But
there is a limit to how much the institution must pay.
Impact on Daily Operations in the Institution
If infractions are not dealt with promptly, they can substantially
impact daily operations. For example, data theft is a
considerable risk as healthcare becomes more digitized and
accessible via mobile applications and laptops. In addition,
information can be compromised if it is not secured correctly.
9. According to an article by Online Tech, these security breaches
severely influence operational efficienc y. These lapses in
security can lead to a reduction in output, a tarnished
reputation, and a decrease in patient confidence (Pham, 2019).
In addition, regulators' audits and surveys can be stressful for
all in the hospital if health IT infractions are discovered.
A hospital's response to a security breach is outlined in detail in
the Final Rule, published in the Federal Register, requiring
additional resources. Victims, for instance, must be informed of
a security breach via priority mail within 60 days of the
occurrence. In addition, if the breach affects more than 500
patients, the media must be notified as well.
Regulations and legislation are placed to ensure that patients
receive the finest and safest care possible. Compliance with
health standards and technological laws must be enforced, or
patient safety may be compromised. One example of
complications leading to patient death is medication
administration errors. Incorrect coding and billing could lead to
the provider's license being revoked.
Impact of Security of the Health Information in the Institution
Obama's HITECH Act broadened the scope of HIPAA and gave
funding to improve the use of health information systems in
clinical settings. Protected health information (PHI) must be
secured to the highest possible standard under the same laws
and regulations that govern technology. Security measures must
protect premises, equipment, and patient data from harm or
illegal access. Patients' privacy rights must also be explained to
them.

HIM 500 Final Project Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Practitioners in health information management and healthcare
informatics are expected to be keenly aware of new and
upcoming technologies that might
benefit their organization. This becomes more complex as these
individuals must also consider the impact that those
technologies might have on the practice of
medicine at their institution. When faced with new
technologies, leaders in health information management must
evaluate the state of the organization and
make an informed decision that will affect the organization as a
whole. This means addressing not just the needs of the health
information management team,
but the needs of all roles within the institution, while also
addressing any issues of compliance the organization might be
12. facing.
For your final project in this course, you will imagine you have
been hired as a contractor for a small medical facility to consult
on the selection of a new
technology. Their organization has been struggling, so you must
first speak to the state of the organization and then offer an
informed recommendation as to
which of the technologies would suit the organization best. The
project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted
at various points throughout
the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules
Three, Five and Seven. The final product will
be submitted in Module Nine.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the
following course outcomes:
x Determine standard technology systems and their uses in
modern healthcare institutions through analysis of current and
historical technology use in
health information management and healthcare informatics
x Analyze the interrelationship between various professional
roles within healthcare institutions and their use of technology
systems for informing
recommendations regarding health information technology
systems
x Determine the potential impact of violating health
regulations and laws regarding health information technology
systems on healthcare organizations
x Develop health information technology recommendations for
healthcare institutions that are compliant with health
regulations and laws and ensure
13. ethical management of health information
x Determine effective investment of resources in health
information technology for healthcare institutions based on the
needs of the healthcare
institution
Prompt
Imagine you have been contracted to consult on the recent
developments at the Featherfall Medical Center. Featherfall has
been struggling of late; it has had a
series of problems that have prompted your hiring. It has faced
the following issues:
1. Featherfall has recently violated several government
regulations regarding the current state of its technology and
how it is being used. The technology
system is vastly out of date, and staff are not always using the
technology that is in place or they are using the technology
inappropriately. These
problems have lost the institution lots of money for not meeting
government regulations and have caused operational and ethical
problems from
inefficient and ineffective use of technology.

14.
2. The staff at Featherfall are not well-trained on the use of
technology and do not communicate appropriately about
technology use. The roles that
pertinent to your consult are the health information management
team, the clinical staff (doctors, nurses, etc.), and
administrative staff. The health
information management team uses proper coding practices, and
the current technology system serves them well, despite its age.
However, other roles
in the hospital have had issues with the system. Clinical staff,
for instance, have had record-keeping issues both due to lack of
training on the system and
the system itself being out of date. Administrative staff within
the organization have taken issue with the lack of
communication about the technology
and its use between the various roles. When the current
technology system was chosen many years ago, the needs of
these various roles were not
considered.
15. You will begin by preparing for your consultation. You will
analyze the history of the field as well as determine standard
guidelines for technology use and
standard technologies used in the field. You will also prepare
information for Featherfall regarding the ramifications for
violating health laws and regulations.
Finally, you will use this information to review technology
options that could be implemented at the institution.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Preparation for

you will analyze the field of health information management for
determining standard technologies and guidelines related to
technology use in order to
inform your technology selection.
A. Analyze key historical events in the field of health
informatics for how technology has been used that could inform
the management of health
information. Be sure to support your response with appropriate
examples.
B. Determine guidelines for technology use in the field of
health information management that Featherfall could
implement. Be sure to support
your response with research.
C. Determine the standard technologies currently used in the
field of health information management. Be sure to support your

research. For example, what record-keeping technologies are
typically used in the field?
16. D. Develop an overview of how the pertinent roles described
at Featherfall would interact with technology.
E. Describe the process you would use to evaluate new health
information technology systems. Be sure that your process will
evaluate new
systems based on how they meet the needs of the organization
and how they are compliant with health regulations and laws.
II. Health Regulations and Laws Ramifications: In this
section of your final project, you will finish your preparation by
reviewing and explaining the
ramifications for the organization if it decides to wait on
addressing its recent violations regarding technology use.
A. Determine how violating health regulations and laws
regarding technology could impact the finances of the
institution if these violations are not
addressed. Be sure to support your response with examples.
B. Determine how violating health regulations and laws
regarding technology could impact the daily operations of the

Overview Practitioners in health information management and
healthcare informatics are expected to be keenly aware of new
and upcoming technologies that might benefit their
organization. This becomes more complex as these individuals
must also consider the impact that those technologies might
have on the practice of medicine at their institution. When faced
with new technologies, leaders in health information
management must evaluate the state of the organization and
make an informed decision that will affect the organization as a
whole. This means addressing not just the needs of the health
information management team, but the needs of all roles within
the institution, while also addressing any issues of compliance
the organization might be facing. For your final project in this
course, you will imagine you have been hired as a contractor for
a small medical facility to consult on the selection of a new
technology. Their organization has been struggling, so you must
first speak to the state of the organization and then offer an
informed recommendation as to which of the technologies
20. would suit the organization best. The project is divided into
three milestones, which will be submitted at various points
throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality
final submissions
