6. PRESENTATION OF CONTENT
Suggest movies to watch based
on previously watched content.
Make it easy for your customers to make purchases
One of the most important things when monetising a TV
service is to make purchasing of content a simple click.
Regardless of the user’s device, buying content such as
movies, premium channels or product bundles should
happen in a few seconds. When planning the buying
experience, here are three basic things to consider:
1. Presentation of paid content
2. Placement of call-to-action buttons
3. Quick payment methods
1Taking all three factors into account will make your
customers buy more and thus increase incoming
revenues from paid content.

Watson Nordic – Expanding from IPTV to multiscreen OTT
Anvia Plc is the fourth largest operator in the Finnish telecom industry. Since 2008 the
company has been using IPTV middleware developed by Hibox Systems. In 2012
Anvia had a total of 60.000 broadband and 70.000 cable TV customers. The operator
planned to expand its TV offering outside of its own network and provide a true
nationwide OTT service.
The goal was to build the best multiscreen service in Finland. The service was
branded as Watson – the operator-free entertainment service, because consumers
would be able to use Watson regardless of their network provider. The target was to
aquire 100.000 new subscribers by the end of 2014.
Hibox was responsible for both the middleware and the system integration. Anvia’s
requirements of the final product was that it should:

13. Set-top boxes
Choosing the right set-top box is crucial, because it is the device your
customers will interact with. The choice of STB depends on your
performance requirements, the price you are willing to invest and the
technologies the STB model needs to support.
Fortunately Hibox supports most set-top boxes on the market by
manufacturers such as Airties, Amino, Arris, Dune HD, Entone, Finnsat,
Infomir, Kaon and Zyxel.
Key topics you should focus on when selecting the right STB:
• The industrial design impacting both estetics as well as durability.
• The support of the Digital Rights Management (DRM) and
middleware you have chosen.
• The manufacturer’s capabilities of providing branding and
packaging.
Hibox experts can help you to make the best choice of STB for your
specific requirements.
