IN DEN BEGINNE…
 Uit de grote Chaos ontstonden Gaea (aarde) en
Uranus (hemel) die haar omringde. Toen de
aarde zich verenigde met de hemel vormden zij
het eerste godenpaar. Uit deze vereniging
werden o.a. de zes mannelijke en zes
vrouwelijke Titanen geboren en de Cyclopen.

DE BERG OLYMPUS
 Olympus, de hoogste berg van Griekenland was
de plek waar de Olympische goden verbleven
en waar de troon van Zeus stond. De Goden
daalden regelmatig af om de mensen hulp te
bieden, te straffen en zelfs om kinderen te
verwekken.

DE KINDEREN DER GODEN
 De kinderen die verwekt
werden uit de
verbinding tussen een
god en een mens
worden halfgoden
genoemd en zij hadden
bijzondere
eigenschappen. Zij
verrichten heldendaden
en werden door
iedereen bewonderd.

 Zeus, de oppergod en de God der donder
 Poseidon, god van de zee
 Hades, beheerder van de onderwereld

DE ANDERE GODEN
 Hera: de vrouw van Zeus, godin v/h huwelijk
 Athena: Dochter van Zeus, godin van de wijsheid
 Demeter: godin van de landbouw
 Apollo: god van het licht
 Artemis: godin van de jacht
 Hermes: boodschapper der goden
 Aphrodite: godin van de liefde
 Ares: god van oorlog
 Hephaestus: smid van de goden
 Hestia: godin van het gezin
