• 1860 – the first reported Gold Discovery in eastern Nova
Scotia, with many to follow
• Gold associated with quartz was easy for prospectors to
identify
• Streams transecting the glacial till covering most of the
Province provided prospectors access to bedrock
• Soon many gold mining developments flourished
Whiteburn Gold Project
The Beginnings
Heraldry Gold Corp.
1. Touquoy Gold Mine validated NS’ successful gold mining potential
• Development permitting achieved
• Mine construction on time and on budget
• Production with no technical surprises
• Touquoy declared 3rd lowest-cost gold producer in Canada (2019)
2. Meguma Series gold potential has received minimal exploration
• Meguma extends for nearly 400 km strike length
• Historically, exploration only for gold in quartz veins
• Extensive glacial cover
• 65 gold mining districts provide a good first clue for exploration
Whiteburn Gold Project
Why Explore for Gold in Nova Scotia?
Heraldry Gold Corp.
• Located southwest of Caledonia in Queens Co., Nova Scotia
• One of 65 gold districts identified in NS
• Meguma Goldenville Formation (characterized by quartzites and slates,
varying amounts of carbonate alteration)
• Mining and production at Whiteburn had two periods of activity –
1887 to 1896 and 1935 to 1941:
o First reported gold discovery at Caledonia in 1884
o 3 mines and mills operating by 1887 and 7,544 ounces of gold
from 4,025 tons (1.87 oz/t) of crushed ore produced within the first
3 years of operation

• In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the Geological Survey
of Canada conducted geological mapping and surveying of many of
the 65 Gold Mining Districts with E. R. Faribault as the primary
leader of this scientific endeavour.
• Faribault completed detailed topographic, surficial, and bedrock
surveying and geological mapping at Whiteburn from 1914 to 1916
and recorded 30+ high-grade bedding-concordant gold veins and 70+
excavated shafts, published on GSC Map 1690.
• His work provides the basis for much of the “modern” prospecting
and exploration. The following extracts from Faribault’s mapping
illustrate the value to current day explorers at Whiteburn.

High-grade plunging “pay shoots”
within narrow veins provided early
miners very high-grade (several
oz/ton) stamp mill feed. We can
locate high grade “pay shoots” and
mine them by open pit.

• After cessation of mining in 1941, the area lay dormant until the
late 1970s
• Limited modern exploration has been undertaken by various
companies and individuals from the late 1970s to the present:
o 1981-82: Whiteburn Precious Metals, 6 DDH, 524 m
o 1987: Aerodat airborne surveying
o 2010-12: Atlantic Gold regional RC sampling
o 2017: Heraldry Gold Corporation founded by Ron Hawkes
(after he returned from Australia and founded Atlantic Gold
NL, leading to eventual Touquoy Mine development)

• The package of greywackes and slates with bedding-concordant gold-
bearing veins is huge
• 2.0+ km surface expression from the Historic Mining area to Murphy
Lake
• Apparent 1.4 km strike length of some individual veins, from the eastern
Historic Mining area to the West Mine area
• 1.0 km true thickness of the gold mineralised rock package known today,
from the Boyle Vein at the northern end of the Historic Mining Area to
Murphy Lake in the south
• See the next few slides illustrating the package in plan view and in cross

Proposed Diamond Drilling
Heraldry Gold Corp.
• Historical mining recovered greater than 1 oz/ton of crushed mined material
• Two gold veins drilled at Murphy Lake; the historical mining and Faribault
geology suggest a huge 1000 m thick gold mineralised package of
greywackes, slates, and bedding-concordant gold veins at Whiteburn
• Open-pit potential has been enhanced by the continuity of mineralised slates
identified in drilling the Cole-Kelly cluster of veins. A 13 m true thickness of
slates and veins in Section C of the 2020 diamond drilling gave a weighted
average grade for the 13 m of 1.29 g/t.
• Coarse “nuggety” gold provides challenges in producing repeatable grades
• Many vein clusters remain untested by drilling – specifically the southern
area, from which grades of several ounces were recovered from historical
mining and crushing at stamp mills
Whiteburn Gold Project
Additional Exploration Conclusions
Heraldry Gold Corp.
• Determine the potential for the existence of additional thicker
mineralised slate units by prospecting and drilling
• Drill test the extension of the historical mining area 1000 m
thick package to Murphy Lake
• Acquire the Banks Claims covering the southwest extension of
the Whiteburn package of slates and greywackes
• Map and prospect the Banks Claims and diamond drill test the
auriferous slates and greywackes

  • 8. Heraldry Gold Corp. • In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the Geological Survey of Canada conducted geological mapping and surveying of many of the 65 Gold Mining Districts with E. R. Faribault as the primary leader of this scientific endeavour. • Faribault completed detailed topographic, surficial, and bedrock surveying and geological mapping at Whiteburn from 1914 to 1916 and recorded 30+ high-grade bedding-concordant gold veins and 70+ excavated shafts, published on GSC Map 1690. • His work provides the basis for much of the “modern” prospecting and exploration. The following extracts from Faribault’s mapping illustrate the value to current day explorers at Whiteburn. • 11. Faribault Geology – Historical Mining Area Heraldry Gold Corp. Faribault detailed 30 veins showing the thickness, surface trace, and dip, plus shafts and shaft depths. High-grade plunging “pay shoots” within narrow veins provided early miners very high-grade (several oz/ton) stamp mill feed. We can locate high grade “pay shoots” and mine them by open pit. • 31. Heraldry Gold Corp. Whiteburn Gold Project Cross Section of Known and Inferred Bedding-Concordant Veins from Murphy Lake to Historic Mining Area
  • 32. Heraldry Gold Corp. Whiteburn Gold Project Proposed Diamond Drilling
  • 33. Heraldry Gold Corp. • Historical mining recovered greater than 1 oz/ton of crushed mined material • Two gold veins drilled at Murphy Lake; the historical mining and Faribault geology suggest a huge 1000 m thick gold mineralised package of greywackes, slates, and bedding-concordant gold veins at Whiteburn • Open-pit potential has been enhanced by the continuity of mineralised slates identified in drilling the Cole-Kelly cluster of veins. A 13 m true thickness of slates and veins in Section C of the 2020 diamond drilling gave a weighted average grade for the 13 m of 1.29 g/t. • Coarse “nuggety” gold provides challenges in producing repeatable grades • Many vein clusters remain untested by drilling – specifically the southern area, from which grades of several ounces were recovered from historical mining and crushing at stamp mills Whiteburn Gold Project Additional Exploration Conclusions
  • 34. Heraldry Gold Corp. • Determine the potential for the existence of additional thicker mineralised slate units by prospecting and drilling • Drill test the extension of the historical mining area 1000 m thick package to Murphy Lake • Acquire the Banks Claims covering the southwest extension of the Whiteburn package of slates and greywackes • Map and prospect the Banks Claims and diamond drill test the auriferous slates and greywackes Whiteburn Gold Project Heraldry’s Exploration Recommendations
