After selecting a tenant, all of the details about renting the home should be in writing.
These details would be in the form of a lease or an agreement that is signed by both
parties. The period of time that the tenant will live in the home should be included as
well as the what the tenant is responsible for and what the landlord is responsible for
regarding the maintenance of the property. The amount of rent and information about
late fees and the eviction process should be including in the agreement as well.

MONEY
The tenant should be clearly informed of when and how
monthly rent will be collected and how much deposits will
be, such as a security deposit or a pet fee. The landlord should
also inform the tenant about what needs to be done while
living in the home to get the deposits back once the lease
expires or the tenant vacates the property. Receipts should be
given to the tenant and should be kept by the landlord to
prevent any questions that might arise in the future over
whether the rent was paid or not.
