MEEP stands for the Mapping Educational Ecosystems Project. We're a community of educators who use mapping techniques to visualize our community's learning ecosystem, the people, relationships, and places that promote learning such as schools, senior centers, community organizations, hacker spaces, daycare centers, companies, etc. Our goal is to see where learning happens and use that knowledge to create smarter educational systems for all people, at every stage of life.
2. Hello World, meet MEEP!
MEEP aims to help solve one of today’s
biggest challenges — how to build learning
institutions that work for people at all stages of life,
from birth until natural death.
3. We're a community of educators who love
using mapping techniques to visualize
our learning ecosystem.
4. An educational ecosystem involves
all the people, relationships, & places that
promote learning in our communities.
5. In practice, MEEP is a platform that
asks people to share their insights, strategies,
& solutions for educational transformation.
6. All of the information we gather, we publish
on our natural partner, LocalWiki. Our mapping
curriculum is also open for use, revision, &
creative remixing.
7. Life Cycle Mapping charts human needs

Learning happens here! At
Berkeley’s Grove Park, people learn
tennis & practice softball.
Spatial Mapping plots our learning ecosystem in real space.
10. affinity mapping
allows for natural partnerships to form & flourish.
It also showcases a community’s existing &
emerging solutions for smarter learning.
18. Mindfulness: We value
learning that promotes awareness
of our emotions & the impact of
our actions. We cultivate empathy
through our teaching.
19. Openness: We value
learning that inspires curiosity
& exploration. In our teaching,
we counter dogma &
indoctrination.
20. Fun: We value learning that is engaging
& interactive. We use game logic to
enhance learning.
21. Participatory: Students & teachers are equal
participants in education. We embed learning into
everyday experiences.

create peace & build caring communities.
We cultivate leadership through capacity-
building.
23. About Our Values.
We made this list of values over dinner.
Twice we sat at a large table & shared goals,
needs, & hopes for education. We came together
to break bread & Build Bridges.
