creating opportunities through these four
principles:
 Nurturing Self-Esteem
Creating a plan for the future
Team-building
Community Awareness/Volunteer activities.
 We will reach out to the greater Puget Sound
area. Empowering young women through
teachings on the value of mind, body and soul.
Girls ages 12-17 at higher risk for:
 Drug and alcohol use
 Self Harm
 Dropping out of school
 Low self-esteem
 Factors contributing to low self-
esteem:
 Obesity
 The media
 Depression
 Poor academic achievement
 Negative body image
Creating a safe place to practice decision making, and
express yourself
 Spark
 Flame
 Blazes
 Each age group has specially designed
curriculum
 Something that sets off a sudden force; a latent particle capable of
GROWTH or developing
 Main focuses
 Self confidence
▪ Personal goals/passions
▪ Health/fitness
▪ Healthy friendships
 Education/career goals
▪ Explore college study ideas
▪ Explore career ideas
▪ Encourage after school program participation for goal focus
 Team Building
▪ Group activities to promote peer encouragement and accountability
 Community involvement
▪ End of year total group project.
 Is the visible light-emitting gaseous part of a fire. Caused by a highly exothermic
reaction- releases energy usually in the form of heat also in the form of light
