3. GOAL OF THE PROJECT
WSN are growing into a widespread technology
due to low power and low cost wireless
Technology
To monitor the heart rate of human in real time
A heart rate monitoring system is designed with
Bluetooth
4. PURPOSE
According to the data from the WHO Global health
observatory , the statistics show that there are only
5.8 physicians per 10,000 persons&12.7 nurses &
midwives for every 10000 persons.
India faces a scarcity of attending staff for the
patients.
A number of people die because of lack of health
monitoring .
5. INRODUCTION
The sensor on the patient’s finger, detects the
pumping of the heart and produces a pulse rate
output. This is then transferred to the
Microcontroller.
In the Microcontroller the output is plotted
with respect to real time to the heart beat rate.
This information can be stored on the
computer / mobile and can be used to analyze a
status of the patient.
6. DISCREPTION
Power Supply:
Generates +5v and +12v DC supply from the given
230VAC.
Signal conditioning Board:
Used to convert the sensed voltage & current into 0-5V DC
and gives it to the ADC of the PIC Micro controller.
Microcontroller:
This Microcontroller used as a CPU for processing input &
output.
Potential divider:
Used to reduce the voltage level from the sensor
to be given to the Microcontroller
7. LCD Display:
Used to display the output data.
Heart Beat Sensor:
Is designed to give digital output of heart when a finger is placed inside it.
It is directly connected to microcontroller to measure beats per minute.
Applications :
Bio feedback control of robotics
Patient monitoring system
Advantages :
• It is portable
• It gives accurate result if power supply is proper .

13. In-Home Patient Monitoring
Patients receive better care at reduced cost with more
freedom and comfort
Patients can remain in their own home
Monitors vital statistics and sends via internet
Doctors can adjust medication levels
Allows monitoring of elderly family member
Sense movement or usage patterns in a home
Turns lights on when they get out of bed
Notify via mobile phone when anomalies occur
Wireless panic buttons for falls or other problems
Can also be used in hospital care
Patients are allowed greater movement
Reduced staff to patient ratio
