Ed Tucker, MPH, FACHE
Healthcare Leadership
Ed joins Endeavor Management as senior advisor within the firm’s healthcare industry
business unit, Gelb Consulting. In his new role, he brings over 30 years of experience and
extensive leadership in running prominent and successful medical centers and healthcare
systems. Ed is a nationally recognized leader in the areas of patient safety, quality,
organizational excellence and leadership development. Most recently, he was executive vice
president of Texas Medical Center in Houston. Prior to that he served as director of the Michael
E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston and was responsible for management
of one of the most complex VA medical centers in the country.
A board certified health care executive, Ed has held leadership roles within the Southeast
Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Awarded the Regents Award
for Senior Healthcare Leadership in 2009, he was elected in 2011 as Regent for Texas
Southeast and served until 2014.
Jill Secord, RN, MBA
Expert Nurse Advisory & Lean Specialist
Jill Secord is a Senior Advisor with 38 years of experience as a nurse with expert skills in
leadership, operations, managed care, nursing education and creating roles for nurses in
nontraditional nursing settings. She has clinical experience in critical care, orthopedics, home
care, home infusion, managed care, contracting, provider relations, data analysis, and strategic
planning. She is also certified in Lean Healthcare and has developed a system to integrate Lean
techniques with Patient Experience Mapping and Family Focused Care initiatives. Jill has
worked with a variety of healthcare organizations to create departments, streamline current
processes, and develop new profitable programs.

Jill was on the Global Executive Committee for UHC which included Executive Health, Patient
Facilitative Services and International Programs throughout the United States. She was also a
member of the US Cooperative for International Patient Programs which tracked International
patients coming to the United States for care and developed guidelines for success with
International Programs. Prior to joining Endeavor Jill recently served as the Director of
Destination Programs and in Managed Care Operations and Business Development for the
University of Michigan Health System.
Lyle Green, MBA, FACHE
Physician Strategies
Lyle provides vision, insight and leadership for the design and implementation of customer
relationship strategies to include physician marketing and communications, referral
development, patient access and employer focused initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience at one of the top cancer centers in the country, he has the
experience required to help you advance your strategies in physician relations and business
development. Lyle has developed collaborative relationships, delivers information and
education regarding the strategic importance of organizational relationships with community
physicians and other patient referral sources. He provides subject matter expertise and
consultation for process, system and operational improvement efforts aimed at enhancing
patient / physician access and clinical communications. Lyle is experienced in physician
relationship management from a community oncology, academic medical center, as well as
local/national/international perspectives.
Matt Kelly, MS
Operational Management
Matthew Kelly has been working in the Health Care Arena for 40 years. He has experience in
operational management, organizational design, change management, and contract
management. He held numerous management and executive positions in the US Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) during a 32 year career. He has worked in the field of health care
consulting since retirement from the VA and presently serves as the President of the Board of
Directors of Communicare Health Center, a Federally Qualifying Community Health Center
(FQHC) in San Antonio, TX,
Cliff Bottoms, MBA, FACHE
Financial Advisor
Cliff is a seasoned financial executive with the demonstrated ability to use financial
information to drive decision-making and results. He is experienced in transforming
organizations into transparent, high performing and customer service oriented operations. As
a Senior Advisor, he brings over 25 years of leadership as a CFO and COO at investor-owned

and non-profit community based hospitals as well as a public multi-hospital academic
healthcare system.
Cliff’s background has been influenced by the aggressive management of investor-owned
facilities; the community involvement required in local non-profit hospitals and tempered by
intense public scrutiny of government sponsored public healthcare systems. He has shown the
ability to develop strategic business plans, turn them into executable operational and financial
plans, and create profitable results. Most recently, he served as CFO for St. Joseph Medical
Center, Houston, Texas. Prior to that, he served as SVP/CFO of Harris Health System, the fourth
largest public healthcare system in the nation.
As a recognized expert in healthcare funding strategies he has been invited to speak at
numerous engagements. He has served on many professional and volunteer boards throughout
his career. He is a board certified health care executive and fills an Executive Board role with
his local American College of Healthcare Executives Chapter.
Mary Anne Graf
Women’s and Children’s Health
Mary Anne Graf is a skilled high-energy speaker, facilitator and coach who makes things
happen. She has a combined clinical and business background which allows her to successfully
bridge the gap between strategic, business, and clinical concerns, with solutions that break
through barriers and expedite consensus and action. With three decades of experience in
women’s health care nationwide and internationally, she brings a wide variety of pragmatic
approaches to problems, and develops individualized solutions tailored to the needs of the
institution, its staff, and the community.
Mary Anne is a featured speaker and author on women’s and children’s health issues. Such
includes visioning, market feasibility, marketing and implementation.
Michelle Howison

John is a Senior Business Executive with 37 years of professional, business management and
leadership expertise. Experience in development of strategic business plans, merger and
acquisition negotiations and execution, new program development, marketing,

Lawrence Marentette, MD, FACS
Expert Physician Leader
Dr. Marentette has 30 plus years in Medicine and is currently a Professor-Otolaryngology &
Neurosurgery and Medical Director of Clinical Innovations Program formally Destination
Programs. In the role of Medical Director for the Destination Programs, he was charged with
increasing market share, increasing margins and improving the Patient Experience, a goal
which he exceeded expectations. In this role Dr. Marentette worked with 19 Clinical Programs
to evaluate readiness, provide support and Clinical Leadership. Dr. Marentette was able to
work with the clinical programs to identify areas of revenue loss, and coding errors which
affected payments and billing.
He has demonstrated a proven record of success in identifying specific performance
improvement opportunities with medical schools and their faculty practice with the 19
Destination Programs. His leadership of physicians created a cohesive environment that
stimulates ideas, created numerous pilots, and improved margins for the programs. Dr.
Marentette has a demonstrated ability to use financial information to drive decision-making
and results in his current role as Medical Director of the Clinical Innovations programs at the
University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Marentette is part of the Expert Advisory team at
Gelb Consulting.
Terry Newmyer, MBA
Philanthropy Advisor
Terry is known among healthcare leaders for his revenue growth and wealth building
successes. He has held Senior Vice President and CEO assignments for three different health
systems. In every case his organizations experienced significant growth in revenue. Most
recently he grew the revenue of the hospitals he led as CEO by 60% in less than a three-year
period. Further, he has advanced philanthropy skills. He has led successful campaigns of over
$250 million in total wealth building from community philanthropy and corporate alliances.
He finds joy in closing big gifts, with sixteen 7-figure and larger community gifts, plus twenty-
one corporate alliance sponsorships in the same category. Terry has also, delivered strategic

Bill Sonn
Business Development Advisor
Bill is an experienced senior marcom and business development executive. Before affiliating
with Gelb, he was Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at University of Colorado
Health. There he led and worked on teams that re-positioned component hospitals and
physician groups, organized physician outreach, created award-winning internal and external
communications and, among many other projects over eight years, met the challenges of
consolidation, integration and system-building. Previously he was CEO of Forte Information
Services, a communications firm specializing in serving the pharmaceutical industry; vice
president of Business Development at The Business Word, a health care publishing company;
CEO of Interrobang, Inc., a news publishing company. As a consultant, he also has worked with
a wide range of clients in the financial services and graphic arts industries, among others.
He is the author of Paradigms Lost, the life and deaths of the printed word (Scarecrow
Press/Rowman & Littlefield, 2006), and a widely published writer and commentator. He is
immediate past chair of the Chief Marketing Officers Council of University HealthSystem
Consortium.
David Vequist, PhD
Medical Tourism Expert
David G. Vequist IV, Ph.D. is the founding Director of the Endeavor Institute, which studies
emerging trends that will transform sectors, industries and societies in order to help prepare
organizations for the needed changes.
In addition, Dr. Vequist was the founding Director of the Center for Medical Tourism Research
(CMTR) – the very first academic research center devoted to medical tourism research
(www.medicaltourismresearch.org) and the founding Director of Social Predictive Institute
(www.socialpredictive.org) which is the premier academic institute studying the intersection
between social media and predictive analytics.
He is also a Tenured Full Professor of Management and the Chair of the Management
department in the H-E-B School of Business & Administration at the University of the Incarnate
Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. Before that, Dr. Vequist was an executive for
Methodist Healthcare and previously was a consultant for Ernst & Young LLC.
