On November 8, 2013, Super Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) unleashed its fury on the Visayas Group of Island. Considered as one of the world’s
strongest typhoons to ever hit the Philippines, their sustained wind was 235 kph. It made six landfalls.
Super Typhoon Yolanda made its first landfall Eastern Samar. It was four o’clock in the morning. Then Yolanda made a second landfall in Leyte at 7:00 am.
It did not weaken, but became stronger, instead. Yolanda made its third landfall in Cebu at 10:00 a.m.
Yolanda pummeled Cebu and made a fourth landfall in Bantayan Island at 10:40 a.m. At 12 n.n, Yolanda made its fifth landfall in Iloilo. Finally, Yolanda
made its sixth landfall in Palawan at 8:00 in the evening.
Here are the devastating effects of Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Second, about 16 million people felt the wrath of Yolanda in different ways such as death of loved ones, physical injuries, loss of property, and loss of
livelihood.
Third, Yolanda caused the destruction of homes, school, hospital, churches, airports, roads, and bridges.
Fourth, Yolanda toppled power and telecommunication lines.
