Health & salvation
1. Health & Salvation
STRONGER TOGETHER
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation,
All my soul praise him, for he is
our health and salvation - Hymn #

2. The Connection
• Health, like salvation, though received personally, must be nurtured
corporately.
• Selfishness has corrupted our view of Salvation and turned our
pursuit of Health in a negative direction. Some Christians have
turned it into an individual endeavor.
• Health, like salvation, received as a gift, must be nurtured in our
Church Families.
• Though received personally, like Abraham when he received the
promise in Genesis 12, both health and salvation are given that we
might be a blessing to the world.
• Once received in whatever form they are given, they must be lived
out corporately; for unless we nurture both Health and Salvation
with others, we will never be able to preserve or protect either of
them.
3. The only True Example we Have is Christ
• The true missionary spirit is the spirit of
Christ. The world's Redeemer was the great
model missionary. Many of his followers have
labored earnestly and unselfishly in the cause
of human salvation; but no man's labor can
bear comparison with the self-denial, the
sacrifice, the benevolence of our Exemplar.
{RH, July 10, 1883 par. 1}
4. Duty above inclination
•The church, unlike any
other human
institution, exists to
proclaim the mystery
of faith that Christ has
died, Christ has risen,
and Christ will come
again. In this message
is the salvation of the
world.
5. We Ought to Preserve Our Life Force
• God has endowed us with a certain amount of vital force. He
has also formed us with organs suited to maintain the
various functions of life, and He designs that these organs
shall work together in harmony. If we carefully preserve the
life force, and keep the delicate mechanism of the body in
order, the result is health; but if the vital force is too rapidly
exhausted, the nervous system borrows power for present
use from its resources of strength, and when one organ is
injured, all are affected. Nature bears much abuse without
apparent resistance; she then arouses and makes a
determined effort to remove the effects of the ill-treatment
she has suffered. {MH 234.3}
6. Our Appetite Will Determine our
Destiny for Eternity or Damnation
• Lustful appetite make
SLAVES of men and
women, and beclouds
their intellects and
stupefies their moral
sensibilities to such a
degree that the SACRED,
ELEVATED TRUTHS of
God’s word are not
appreciated. The lower
propensities have ruled
men and women.

7. Christians should be preparing for what is soon to
break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise,
and this preparation they should make by diligently
studying the word of God, and striving to conform
their lives to its precepts. . . . God calls for a revival
and a reformation.--Prophets and Kings, p. 626.
Revival signifies -a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening
of the powers of mind and heart, a resurrection from the
spiritual death.
GODS EXPECTATION
9. It is impossible for
those who give the
reins to appetite to
attain to Christian
perfection.
Testimonies, vol. 6, pp. 426, 427
10. • Today a large part of those who
compose our congregations are dead
in trespasses and sins. They come
and go like the door upon its hinges.
For years they have complacently
listened to the most solemn, soul-
stirring truths, but they have not put
them in practice. Therefore they are
less and less sensible of the
preciousness of truth. . . . While
making a profession, they deny the
power of godliness. If they
continue in this state, God
will reject them.
