conditions with which they are
born or by hazards around
them.

4. Allergy – is a misguided
reaction to foreign substances
by the immune system. The
allergic reaction is misguided
in that these foreign
substances are usually
harmless.
Eg. Pollens, dust mite, molds,
danders and certain foods.
Cardiovascular Disease – is the disease of
the heart and blood vessel. These include
heart diseases and vascular diseases.
a. Heart (Cardio) Diseases
- Congenital heart disease – is an
abnormality in the heart’s structure that
you’re born with.
- Congestive Heart Failure – is the inability
of the heart to keep up with the
demands of it, with failure of the heart
to pump blood with normal efficiency.

Asthma – is a chronic lung disorder that
causes airways (the tubes that carry air
into and out of the lungs) to become
inflamed, which means that they swell
and produce lots of thick mucus.
Signs and Symptoms of Asthma:
• Shortness of Breath
• Wheezing
• Coughing
• Chest Tightness
5. Cancer – is caused by
abnormal cells growing
without control. As these
abnormal cells grow, they
form in masses called tumors.
Tumors can either be:
Benign – not cancerous
Malignant - cancerous.

Diabetes –is a disease that
prevents the body from converting
food into energy.
- Type 1 Diabetes – this kind of
diabetes usually begins before
the age of 40.
- Type 2 Diabetes – is the result of
too little insulin produced by the
pancreas. Most often it begins in
overweight adults.
Arthritis – refers to the
inflammation of joints. It
usually occurred during old
age.
Kidney or Renal Failure – is a
medical condition in which
the kidneys fail to adequately
filter waste products from the
blood.

development of a person. It varies in different
levels, needs, age and capability of an individual
to perform a specific task.
- Integral part of festival dance.
- Participating actively in this type of activity helps
develop our personal fitness, promote our culture
and strengthen our spirit of nationalism.

Group yourselves into five (5) groups.
Each group will choose any of the festival
dances previously discussed.
Prepare a 1 minute grand presentation
using chants or yells that tell about the
importance of physical fitness.
