The Education Redesign Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education aims to create an innovative "education engine" to ensure students from low-income environments can develop skills for current economic success. Led by Paul Reville, the lab designs a comprehensive schooling approach incorporating differentiated instruction, accessible high-quality extracurricular learning, and inclusive health supports to eliminate historic achievement gaps.

2. Introduction
• Cory Olcott currently balances his role as the Head
Coach for the women’s water polo team at Wellesley
College with his position as an English Instructor, Dean
of the Sophomore Class, and the Director of Student
Activities at Chapel Hill - Chauncy Hall School. To
prepare for his career in education, Cory Olcott earned
an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University
and a graduate degree from Stanford University before
completing the School Leadership Program at Harvard
University’s Graduate School of Education (GSE).
The Harvard GSE maintains numerous programs and
initiatives, such as the Education Redesign Lab.

3. Education Redesign Lab
• Led by Paul Reville, who is the Francis Keppel Professor of
Practice at Harvard, the lab was founded to create an
innovative “education engine” to ensure that students from
low-income environments have an opportunity to develop the
skills and understanding required for success in the current
economy.
The new education engine incorporates a more
comprehensive definition of schooling that is driven by a
national design method. Designed to eliminate historic
achievement gaps, the learning engine focuses on three main
components, including differentiated schooling, accessible
and high quality learning opportunities outside of the
classroom, and an inclusive health support system.
