This document proposes a location-based social media concept called GPS-based-SNS. The concept is inspired by the story of Hansel and Gretel leaving breadcrumbs to mark their path. It would allow users to share thoughts and find consolation by communicating with others within a certain area, similar to leaving "crumbs" on a map. Posts would be viewable depending on a user's location. Further details include visualizing posts as objects placed on a map, collecting cultural probes from SNS users, and developing persona profiles and game elements to encourage participation. Limitations and problems with the concept are also discussed.

1. Someone posts their own
story. It could be about
blaming their boss, their daily
story, or their worries.
2. When they upload their post,
the post locates on the place
where they write.
3. People near the place will
find the posts and write
comments to it.
(To prevent people’s low participation
interacting with others such as replying,
there is a condition that the text people
can use for their own story is limited. For
the more text, they have to write
comments to others’ posts. Otherwise,
they have no text to use.)

• The game
Get a materials to make a new type
of bread which will differentiate your
bread from others. According to
bread you make, the amount of text
can be diverse.
• Land Mark
There is empathy points. If the text
or the comment get many empathy
points. The bread gets to change
into other form of things. Since it is
pretty big, you can easily approach
to it.

The posts that got too many 신고s.
It will be deleted and the user will be
warned.

If you click a bread on the ground,
you will see not only the post but
also the previous and next posts’
