This document proposes a location-based social media concept called GPS-based-SNS. The concept is inspired by the story of Hansel and Gretel leaving breadcrumbs to mark their path. It would allow users to share thoughts and find consolation by communicating with others within a certain area, similar to leaving "crumbs" on a map. Posts would be viewable depending on a user's location. Further details include visualizing posts as objects placed on a map, collecting cultural probes from SNS users, and developing persona profiles and game elements to encourage participation. Limitations and problems with the concept are also discussed.
