Grand Theft Auto V was designed for adult male audiences given its mature content like violence, sexual references, and criminal activities. It cost $265 million to develop and market. In its first 6 weeks, it sold 29 million copies and made $1 billion, more than Grand Theft Auto IV's lifetime sales. Critics praised its technical accomplishments, vast open world of San Andreas, sharp satire of American culture, and called it one of the best video games ever made, giving it a perfect 10/10 score.

1. Gta 5 target is audience is adults, thus why the game has an 18+ age restriction meaning
people under the age of 18 should not be playing it. This is due to the amount of violence,
nudity, drug use and vile language in the game. Despite this the Gta franchise has millions of
young fans, millions of young people especially people in their teens tend to play Gta. This
game was designed for adults and the content of the game suggests that it was made for
male adults rather than female adults. This is shown in the game as the game contains
violence throughout and violence tends to be more associated with males rather than
females. Also most of the sexual content in the game is seeing females naked for example it
has a strip club where females strip for men. Also on the streets there are prostitutes, men
can pick them up and pay them for sex. This is also another reason as to why the game has
an 18+ age restriction. By having all the sexual references, violence and anti-social behaviour
it reaches out to its target audience; adults. This game reaches out to adults mainly because
most of the activities in the game are associated with adults doing it. For instance in the
game you can Jet Ski, parachute, drive cars and pilot planes and jets. You have to be over a
certain age (+18) to do these activities. Also the game contains gun crimes etc. Overall the
range of activities which you can do on the game really reaches out to adults mainly males.
