This one-day conference explored the current pharmaceutical pricing landscape by bringing together leaders from the pharmaceutical industry, policymakers, legal practitioners, and scholars to engage in novel, interdisciplinary discussions to better understand current challenges and articulate best practices to address these issues. Participants assessed the current challenges presented in drug pricing policy, from development to delivery, in both the United States and international context. o More exchange consumers say they understand their costs than consumers with employer coverage, and when they used their coverage, few had surprise out-of-pocket costs

Sustainability and Consumers - LOHAS
Sustainability has become the foremost current cultural shift. It permeates all aspects of consumers' lifestyles and businesses. Most of the general population is concerned with environmental stewardship issues and believes corporations should do more to protect the environment, though some barriers like cost still exist. Early adopters known as LOHAS consumers are predictors of future behaviors and wants from companies regarding environmentally friendly products and packaging.

The 2008 Commuter Impact Survey found that:
1) Nearly 90% of employers are very or somewhat concerned about the impact of rising fuel and commuting costs on employees.
2) Most employers (67%) believe companies should take an active role in addressing commuting difficulties, but many are concerned about being able to afford solutions.
3) Commuter benefits like flexible schedules, telecommuting, and pre-tax transit benefits are widely used strategies to help employees cope with high commuting expenses.

They worked to find solutions to challenging public policy issues related to ingredient communication, legislation and regulation, antimicrobials, and pesticides. However, more work is still needed to determine what regulations would be required and how to implement source reduction strategies.
