INTRODUCTION
• Frank is a year 11 student. It’s Tuesday, and next Tuesday is
the deadline for a group presentation. The trouble is he has a
big basketball match on Saturday which he won’t be able to
play in if he doesn’t attend this week’s training sessions. In
addition there is a big family party for his mother’s birthday on
Sunday, he needs to buy a present. His course work is also
piling up: he needs to revise the basic English vocabulary, he
still hasn’t done the research for his part of the group
presentation in Economics, an essay he has had for months
in due on Thursday. His usual Friday night meeting with his
friends is going to the Christmas market. And of course there
will be more homework to do before Tuesday and his chores
at home like emptying the dishwasher and walking the dog,
etc.
PROBLEMS FOUND IN HIS WAY OF
MANAGING HIS TIME
• Lack of organization.
• He doesn‘t have priorities.
• He leaves for tomorrow what he could do today.
• Leisure: he wasted his time in the past, but he still wants
to do the things people do when they free time.
• The more things you have to do, the more you waste
your time.
SOLUTIONS FOUND
• Write things down
• Make deadlines and set goals.
• Try getting things done as soon as possible, and don’t
leave things for tomorrow.
• Find time each week to organize his tasks.
• Do whatever he can do to get rid of stuff.
• Try to organize out, in a slowly way, things that create
stress.
