5. GOAL SETTING
Goals are not end points. They are DIRECTIONS you promise to give EFFORT to move toward.
A good goal:
- Is realistic
- Is specific
- Has a plan
WHAT IS YOUR GOAL FOR THIS CLASS?
6. Responsibility
What obstacles are there because of your choices?
Are you taking responsibility for your own Goals?
Your Goals are your children—are you being a responsible Goal parent?
7. INITIATIVE
Are you taking the first step toward overcoming obstacles or are you
waiting for someone to rescue you?
Are you taking the initiative to ask for help?
8. TENACITY
What is “pulling you apart”? How can you put yourself back together?
Remember: you are seeking something VALUED. How much do you
value your Goal?
How are you talking to the parent of your Goal (you)? Would you talk to
your best friend this way? Your mentor?
9. Create your Goal
Sometimes cheesy works.
• Write down your Goal. This is your Goal’s name.
• Find a face for your Goal.
• Put it someplace you will see it.
• Ask yourself if you have cared for your Goal today.
*Bonus point opportunity: Make your “Goal” and show it to me.
