Greenland is the largest island in the world, mostly covered in ice. It has a population of around 56,000 people, who speak Greenlandic and a little English. The economy was traditionally based on fishing and hunting but is diversifying into mining and tourism. Greenland has a parliamentary government as a self-governing territory of Denmark. The climate is arctic and varies greatly across the island, rarely reaching 10 degrees Celsius even in summer. Melting glaciers are a natural threat as the climate changes.
