correcting this wrong, while we continue
monitoring
9. The GEF Impact
• DaruWapsi campaign done at Arcadia
– Arcadia, the main shopping arcade within
HE with seating areas in the courtyard was
transforming into a place where one could
eat, drink and make merry.
– The problem was that drinking alcohol in
public was rampant here, with bottles and
cups strewn over and hidden between
bushes and manicured shrubs.
– We carried out a cleanup drive, restoring
these seating areas and putting out
messages to stop littering and drinking in
public. We also returned all the bottles to
the liquor shop asking them to put bins and
messages discouraging drinking in public

13. Traffic Management Project
Problem Statement and Solution Approach
Problem Statement
• A key factor affecting quality of life and safety of
residents in residential areas in India is traffic
related accidents.
• The government typically focuses on highways
but loses sight of management of traffic in
residential areas.
• Accidents in residential areas lead to loss of life,
injuries, damage to property as well as prevent
senior citizens and children from stepping out of
their homes for fear of traffic. Solution Approach
Solution Approach
The solution approach being proposed for improving
traffic management is three pronged viz.
• Creation of infrastructure associated with traffic
management
• Driving improved awareness of traffic rules and
• Driving enforcement of traffic rules in
partnership with local traffic law enforcement
