FIRST DAY IN SKOPELOSToarrivetoSkopeloswetook a boat, and wearrived in 4 hours.In theboatwemetsomegreekstudentsfromtheschool, butmostpeoplewaswaitingforus at theharbour.Thefirstdaywestoodwithour host family.
TheschoolwascalledGenykoLykeio (ΓΕΝΙΚΟ ΛΥΚΕΙΟ in Greek).Ithadthreebuldings, oneforprimaryschool (from 6 to 12 years), theotherwastheGymnasium (from 12 to 15 years), and Lykeio (from 15 to 18).It’scompulsorytostudyuntil 16.THE SCHOOL
ACTIVITIES IN THE LYKEIOMostactivitieswedid in thelibrary.Allactivitieswereabouttourism, almosttheironlyway of life.Wevisitthe 3rd grade of Gymnasium.
FOLKLORE MUSEUMWevisited a museum, whichwas a housedonatedbyNickolaidesfamily.Itexhibitssome of thebesthandworkfromcenturies 19th and 20th, especially ceramics, works of woodcarvings, knives, agricultural tools and folk art paintings.
DINNER WITH THE SCHOOLTheschool prepare forus a nightto a Café wherewe ate pizza, meatballsand someothertipicalgreekfood.Alsothechildrenwho host us prepare someactivitiesafterschool.
Wevisited a 4 stars hotel, calledAdrina. Theyexplainedtousthatthe hotel wasclosedfromOctobertoApril. And thentheyweretidingit up.Theyhadtopaintallthebuilding, cleanthe pool, removeplants…ADRINA’S HOTEL
The hotel had a privatebeach, with a beach bar and a swimming pool.
GLOSSAGlossa (Γλώσσα) isanothertown of Skopelos.Therewewentto a womenhandmadefoodfactory. Thewomenteachustomake a tyropita.Wealsohad lunch there and we ate tipicalgreekfood, pastisioand tyropitawithsome vegetables.
POTTERY HANDMADEThismanexplainedtousthatwewason a familiar bussiness, and he colaboratedwith 3 greekfactories.Allhisworkwashandmaded and in front of us he made  a vase in about 20 minutes.
GREEK NIGHTOnenightgreekstudents show us a little bit of theirculture. ButfirstPolish, French and Spanishstudentsread a famouspoem of each country.
