The Blackwater Security Academy Training course was an intensive eight-week course of instruction
specifically designed to provide the skills necessary to function as an operative in the field of global security
consulting. The first three weeks of this course consist of intensive firearms training courses utilizing the Glock
17 Pistol, the Remington 870 shotgun, and the M4 carbine. The remainder of the training was dedicated to a
wide variety of topics including Close Quarter Combat (CQB), performance driving, Executive protection,
Surveillance Detection, ground fighting, physical security as well as a variety of live fire exercises designed to
incorporate all of the skills learned during the course. Training included live fire weapons training on ranges
and urban training areas in all conditions including low light and close quarters. The course was both physically
and mentally demanding.
