This document discusses Athabasca University's process for converting print-based course materials to digital formats for online delivery. It describes AU's selection of the Alfresco content management system and how it will be used together with the Moodle learning management system. It then outlines the multi-step process developed to convert existing course files stored in legacy systems into XML documents that can be managed in Alfresco and published to Moodle, mobile devices, and other formats using semantic tagging and tools like Wimba Create. Workflows and dashboards in Alfresco will manage the conversion and publishing process.
