2. INTRODUCTION
• The GRE revised general test- the most widely accepted graduate
admission test world wide-measures verbal reasoning, quantitative
reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that are
necessary for success in graduate and business school.
• It provides a common measures for comparing candidates’
qualification
• GRE scores are used to supplement undergraduate records,
recommendation letters, and other qualifications for graduate level
studies.
• Test are available at about 700 test center in more that 160 countries

4. The computer based GRE general test
1. THE ANALYTICAL WRITING SECTION:
• measures the ability to articulate and support complex ideas, sustain
a focused and coherent discussion, and standard writing.
One section consists of one “Analyze an issue” task and one “
Analyze an Argument” task and total time allotted is 30 min
5. 2.THE VERBAL REASONING SECTION
• Measures the ability to analyze and evaluate written material and
synthesize information obtained from it, understanding the meaning
of the word, sentences, and entire texts, and understanding the
relationships among words and among words concept.
2 section contains 20 questions per section ,30 minute per
section.
6. • THE QUANTITATIVE REASONING SECTION
• Measures basic mathematics skills and your understanding of the
elementary mathematical concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry,
and data analysis
consists 2 section 20 questions per section 35 min per section
7. FOR THE TEST
• The administrative procedure include registration and appointment
scheduling of date, time, test center location, cost, score-reporting
procedure, and availability of special test arrangements.

8. SCORE REPORTING
• Three score will be reported
1. A verbal reasoning score reported on a 130-170 score scale, in 1- point
increment.
2. A quantitative reasoning score reported on a130-170 score scale, in 1-
point increment.
3. An analytical writing score reported on a 0-6 score scale, in half –point
increment.
If you do not answer any question at all for a measure(verbal reasoning,
quantitative reasoning, or analytical writing)you receives no score
