The GRE is a standardized test conducted by ETS that is used by most American universities as part of their admissions process. The test consists of three sections - Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. The Quantitative and Verbal sections each contain 20 multiple choice questions to be completed in 30 minutes, testing math and verbal skills respectively. The Analytical Writing section contains two essay tasks to be completed in one hour. Scores are reported on a 130-170 scale for Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning and a 0-6 scale for Analytical Writing.
