2. “find me some government space” (FMSGS)
Project goal: A publicly available, single view of Government land and building
assets available for sale and lease made up from:
Central Government assets in England, Scotland and Wales (NI to follow)
Government Property Unit (GPU) commissioned the project in November
2012
Aligned to policy objectives of GPU and Cabinet Office:
Accelerating delivery of cost savings and sustainability targets
Helping Departments identify surplus and underutilised property assets
Collaboration between Departments for interdepartmental estate
rationalisation and co-location
Maintaining an up-to-date database of all central civil Government property
and future accommodation requirements (e-PIMS™)
3. e-PIMS™
Application created using Government owned ‘Electronic Property
Information Mapping Service (e-PIMS™) platform
Central database of Government Central Civil Estate properties and land
Mandatory for all Government Departments and used by all three
devolved administrations
Includes surplus land from NHS
The e-PIMS™ platform runs multiple applications including:
Sustainability Tools
Document Collaboration Solutions
Project delivered in 8 weeks – only possible by using the e-PIMS™
platform
Project aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) strategy
