Good Friday commemorates Jesus Christ's crucifixion. Throughout the Old Testament, there are numerous examples that foreshadow this event, such as God clothing Adam and Eve with animal skins, Abel's acceptable sacrifice, and God providing a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead of his son Isaac. Jesus' death on the cross fulfilled these Old Testament sacrifices and atoned for humanity's sins, reconciling people to God and satisfying God's wrath against sin. With Jesus' last words "It is finished," he accomplished his role as the ultimate sacrifice and redeemer of mankind.
