roughly $20 million to $30 million. They upgraded suite renovations, 3 scoreboard

o Insurance: The NBA has incorporated a new insurance with United Healthcare to provide
a health insurance plan for all retired NBA players with 3 or more years including their
spouse and children. No other professional organization has done this in the US.
(Roberts, 2016)
Revenue Streams:
o Ticket Sales: The Los Angeles Lakers had a revenue of $80 million for ticket sales in

o Intellectual Property: The Los Angeles Lakers filed for trademarks for their name, logo,
clothing, footwear, and headgear. (Lakerโs trademark of the Los Angeles lakers, n.d.)
9. Conclusion:
I think the Los Angeles Lakers is a solid business model both for its customers and
financially. Customers can have a fun night out with affordable prices starting at $41, if you want
closer seats than you can pay an average of $246. Fans get an experience of just walking into the
Staples Center because of all the historic events that have happened in this arena plus they watch
iconic basketball players. Financially it is also smart because they have a lot of sponsors paying
big money because of the prestigious name the Lakers have made for themselves winning 17
championships. An area that the company can improve on is not depending too much on popular
players to bring in fans. If one season they donโt have a popular player, then their whole revenue
income can be at stake. If viewership goes down that can result in sponsors wanting to pull out of
their deals.
