 Antimicrobial Finishing on Organic Cotton Knitted Fabric Using Natural Antimicrobial Agents
PROJECT UNDERTAKEN IN M.TECH:
 Comparative study of Antimicrobial properties and wash durability of fabrics treated with some
herbal extracts.
The Objective of the project was
• To finish cotton and polyester/cotton blended fabrics with extracts of Mimosa pudica,
Eucalyptus, Qurercus infectoria and neem.
• To evaluate the antimicrobial activity of finished fabric samples by AATCC 100 method.
• To analyze and to identify the major phytochemical constituents present in the extract.
• To identify the functional groups and absorbency of the treated fabrics using. FTIR technique.
• To evaluate and confirm the wash durability of antimicrobial activity of treated fabrics by FTIR
technique.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
 Participated in Campus Connect Programme conducted by Infosys (Soft skill oriented)
 Second Place in State Level Basket Ball Tournament
 Participated twice in national level technical symposium “Texcreative” held at Textile
technology Dept, BIET
