COMPUTER TOOLS
1. CODE – CODIGO:
A system used for brevity or secrecy of communication, in which arbitrarily chosen
words, letters, or symbols are assigned definite meanings.
2. COMPUTER – COMPUTADOR:
Also called processor.an electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed
mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these
operations. Compare analogcomputer, digital computer.
3. COMPUTER SCIENCE – INFORMÁTICA:
the science that deals with the theory and methods of processing information in digital
computers, the design of computer hardware and software, and the applications of
computers.
4. CONVERSION – CONVERSIÓN:
The act or process of converting; state of being converted.
5. DECIMAL – DECIMAL:
A) Pertaining to tenths or to the number 10.
B) Proceeding by tens: a decimal system.
6. NETWORK – RED:
A) Electricity. An arrangement of conducting elements, as resistors, capacitors, and
inductors, connected by conducting wire.
B) A netting or net.
7. NUMBER – NUMERO:
A) A numeral or group of numerals.
B) The sum, total, count, or aggregate of a collection of units, or the like
C) The particular numeral assigned to an object so as to designate its place in a series:
house number; license number.
D) One of a series of things distinguished by or marked with numerals.
8. SYSTEM – SISTEMA:
Any formulated, regular, or special method or plan of procedure: a system of marking,
numbering, or measuring; a winning system at bridge.
9. TOOL – HERRAMIENTA:
A) Any instrument of manual operation.

Format of images and animations very used to transmit images in Internet
11. HARDWARE:
Any of the physical elements that compose a computer: hard disk
12. HTML:
It is the language in which the web pages are written
13. ICON - ICONO
Small image that represents an element of software (a program, a file, a folder, a direct
access ...)
14. JPEG:
Joint Photography’s initials Experts Group
15. (BROWSER)- NAVEGADOR
Program that interprets the (HTML) code in which the web pages are written and shows
them as they are seen in the monitor
16. URL:
Initials of the expression (Uniform Pager of Resources)
17. BANNER:
Advertising, normally animated (inspired) strip, which appears in the top part of some
web pages
18. SOFTWARE:
Programs that you use to make a computer do different things
19. WEB DEVELOPMENT (DESARROLLO WEB)
The process and technology of creating websites
20. PROGRAMMING: (PROGRAMACIÓN):
The job or activity of writing computer programs
21. CYBERNETICS (CIBERNÉTICA)
The scientific study of
how information is communicated in machines andelectronic devices, comparing this with
how information is communicated in the brain and nervous system.
22. DIGITIZER: (DIGITALIZACIÓN):
A piece of software that digitizes information

The amount of information per second that can move between computers connected by
a telephone wire
24. ARCHIVE (ARCHIVO):
A place on a computer used to store information or documents that you do not need to use
often.
25. AVATAR:
An electronic image that you create to represent yourself in a computer game, on
the internet, etc.
