PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT
PRINCIPIOS DE ADMINISTRACIÓN
1. ABILITY: HABILIDAD:
A) Power or capacity to do or act physically, mentally, legally, morally, financially, etc.
B) Competence in an activity or occupation because of one's skill, training, or other
qualification: the ability to sing well.
2. ADMINISTRATION: ADMINISTRACIÓN:
A) The management of any office, business, or organization; direction.
B) The duty or duties of an administrator in exercising the executive functions of the
position.
C) The management by an administrator of such duties.
3. ART: ARTE
Any field using the skills or techniques of art: advertising art; industrial art.
4. CENTRALIZATION: CENTRALIZACIÓN: 1.
A) The concentration of administrative power in a central government, authority, etc.
B) Concentration of control or power in a few individuals.
5. DESCENTRALIZATION: DECENTRALIZACIÓN:
A) To distribute the administrative powers or functions of (a central authority) over a less
concentrated area: to decentralize the national government.
6. EFECTIVENESS: EFFECTIVIDAD:
A) Adequate to accomplish a purpose; producing the intended or expected result: effective
teaching methods; effective steps toward peace.
7. EFFICACY: EFICACIA:
A) Capacity for producing a desired result or effect; effectiveness: a remedy of great
efficacy.
8. EFFICIENCY: EFICIENCIA:
A) Accomplishment of or ability to accomplish a job with a minimum expenditure of time
and effort: The assembly line increased industry's efficiency.
9. ECONOMY: ECONOMIA:
A) Thrifty management; frugality in the expenditure or consumption of money, materials,
etc.
B) The management of the resources of a community, country, etc., especially with a view
to its productivity.
10. HIERARCHY: JERARQUIA:
A) Any system of persons or things ranked one above another.
B) The power or dominion of a hierarch.
11. INFLUENCE: INFLUENCIA:
A) The capacity or power of persons or things to be a compelling force on or produce
effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of others.
B) To disperse (something) from an area of concentration: to decentralize the nation's
industry.
12. MANAGEMENT: GESTION:
A) The act or manner of managing; handling, direction, or control.
B) The person or persons controlling and directing the affairs of a business, institution, etc.:

A) An important goal or purpose that is accompanied by strong conviction; a calling or
vocation: She has finally found her mission in life.
