GLOBALIZATION-
INTRODUCTION
Globalization is defined as the integration
between countries through foreign trade and
foreign investments by multinational
corporations (MNCs).
It means integration of a country’s economy
with the world economy. It aims to increase
foreign trade, private and institutional foreign
investment. It aims at creating the World into
one economy.

Rapid improvement in Technological advancements
Information and Communication development
Liberalization of trade restrictions
Promoting foreign Investment
Rapid transportation of goods from one place to
another
Major improvement in transportation technology
Growth of MNCs in the country
IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION IN
INDIA
 Greater competition among producers-both local and
foreign producers has been of advantage to the
consumers.
 There is a greater choice before these consumers who
now enjoy improved quality and lower prices for
several products.
 Foreign investment has increased in India
 It has brought in a lot of employment opportunities.
 Improvement in GDP and the Country’s exports have
also increased

 Bring threat to small local producers.
 Outflow of Indian currency by way of
profit of MNCs.
 Making the country dependent on others.
 Lack of public interest.
 Exploitation on employees.
 Disrupt the social and cultural life of the
people.
IMPACT OF FOREIGN TRADE ON
PRODUCER
This creates the opportunity for the producers to reach beyond
the domestic markets therefore markets of their own country.
Producers can then sell their good not only with in their country
but also around the globe
CONSUMER
Import of goods produced in another country is one way of
expanding the choice of goods beyond what is domestically
produced.
IMPACT OF FOREIGN TRADE ON
MARKET
Competition increases among local and foreign companies.
Foreign trade thus results in connecting the markets of
integration of markets in different countries.
WHAT IS
LIBERALIZATION?
Removing barriers or restrictions set by the government is what is
known as liberalisation. With liberalisation of trade, businesses are
allowed to make decisions freely about what they wish to import or
export. The government imposes much less restrictions than before
and is therefore said to be more liberal.
FEATURES OF LIBERALIZATION
 Freedom of opening/starting production units
 Use of new machines and technology.
 No government interference in production.
 Free flow of foreign investment.
 Import duties reduced
 Foreign direct investment and foreign funds
encouraged to flow in.
