Project Summary
Project Scope - To automate the security and compliance for the infrastructure in scope of the squad that
involves Servers, Frames, operating systems, Middleware softwares, Databases etc across EMEA and AP region.
The exercise was successfully implemented across infrastructure hosted in Americas region (Boulder,
Poughkeepsie & Southbury).
Currently, we are testing this automation to match with EMEA and AP infrastructure environment. Once, the
testing gets succesful by end of 1st quarter 2019, the automation scripts cum configuration will be rolled out
across other environments to all the infrastructure in next few quarters.
Business Benefit - Automation helps save HUGE time/efforts and avoids human errors in addressing the security
and compliance gaps identified. Also, an automated closures of Applicable and Not applicable records helps
avoid manual tool intervention.
My role in this project -
Worked with a team of 5 members across the globe to have them write scripts to automate fix and closure of
security and compliance records for AG region within a quarter. Currently, after a successful implementation
for AG, We are moving towards the implementation across other regions (EMEA & AP) with a 4 member team.
We are saving 2 FTE (Full Time Employee), as automation takes care of addressing fix and record closure.
This script shall we reused across other environments thus, saving time/efforts from reinventing the wheel

Scope - Migrate all AIX LPARS in P5 to P7 frame.

Detailed planning of servers to be migrated in phases with minimal/no impact to the customer/end users
Technical review of the process (Live Partition Mobility method) to migrate servers in batches by ascertaining
prerequisites
Coordination between multiple teams (Hardware, VIOS, System administrators, customer) to complete and
validate applications post migration activity.
Taking customer centric dynamic decisions in LPAR migration exercise that cuts down the application impact
to nil.
Keeping up with migration timelines despite resource crunch and other factors.
